Where to begin...Family of 4, 2 boys...opinions on waiting to try for 3rd...

Really? Lol i have the opposite viewpoint..i got in one last trip to disney before i got pregnant because it would kill me not to do the rides.

It was COMPLETELY awful not being able to go on the rides. So I guess we're in the same boat. :)

We're contemplating #3 right now as well. DS and DD are almost 4 years apart, and the age difference is hard for them. DH is deploying in October, and if I don't get pregnant before he leaves (9 month deployment) then DD and the next baby will have a similar distance between them.
There are pros and cons to both things. It definitely depends a lot on the two kids concerned. As it is, DS starts Kindergarten next week, so I'll only have DD at home with me. I think she'll have a hard time without her brother around, but I think he'll be absolutely thrilled to go.

Anyway...go with your best instincts, and be prepared that they'll be wrong.

I think all moms have an ideal in mind. Mine was 2 kids, 3 years apart. Boom! Like clockwork, the first time we tried for both, I got pregnant 3 years apart. Then we decided maybe we wanted another after 3 years. And we tried and tried and tried and gave up. Then next month, I was pregnant at 35. Surprise!
When my youngest was 7 and my oldest 10, we had our bonus baby! And that was it, I figured. 3 was plenty. We waited a long time for #3 and I cherished every moment of his babyhood. The age difference is awesome, because my daughter was so helpful and my son isn't jealous of not being the "baby" anymore. I figured my baby-making years were over and I just got lucky with #3 (who is 15 months old). But nope! Shortly before my daughter's 12th birthday, we will welcome #4. Extra, super, special surprise!!! Anyway, personally, I loved the 3-year difference. And the 10 and 7-year difference. I suppose I'll also love the 12, 8, and almost 2-year difference, too ;).
All that to say, whatever happens, you can make it work :) There's no one-size-fits-all ideal. And anyway, you just never know what will happen!

I think everyone to a degree has baby fever when their kid(s) are younger. The hard part is when they are finally ready to leave the nest and go off to an expensive school.
