We got 10 day park tickets that didnt expire last year and used 5 then and saved 5 for this trip. We didnt have the hopper feature then, but are thinking if the crowds are really bad this Dec. (17-22) then we might need to be able to hop to another park. If we are at MK for example and it is to crazy and we decide we want to go to Epcot :car: , is there a place there at the gates that we can add the hopper and pay the fee? Would there be a place to do this at each park? Thanks for the help with this. Im hoping the crowds :crowded: wont be bad and we wont have to pay out more money, but just in case...

Too late. Since your ticket has been used more than 13 days ago, it cannot be modified.

Otherwise you can add hopping as late as upon arrival at the second theme park you wanted to visit that day. There is a Guest Relations window outside the turnstiles also.

Ticket changes can be done at any Guest Relations booth, some are at Downtown Disney too. I'm not absolutely sure about Guest Services at resorts, people have reported mixed results but mostly due to mistakes made by the CM's there.

Currently it is better to add hopping slightly after first use as opposed to slightly before. Prior to first use a modification/upgrade may be treated as a trade/exchange where the wholesale cost of the ticket enters the equation and causes the visible cost of hopping to be greater, greater than that posted above ticket booths.

Trades/Exchanges for more days and features are now (2006) limited to unused tickets.

Are you kidding me? I thought I remember when I bought them that they said I could add the hopper feature anytime. This is just great if you are correct. Anyone else know if this is accurate? Thanks

The current rules are very specific. The rule is no MYW ticket can be modified or upgraded once it is more than 14 days from the date of first use.

The only exceptions are a FLorida Resident Play Three pass which can be upgraded within six months of first use, and any variety of AP anytime within its year of validity. The Automated Ticketing System will not allow it.

Just to confirm what other posters said, tickets can only be upgraded/modified within 14 days after the first use. Sorry OP, unfortunately you are out of luck.

Also, resorts lobby concierge can make the same sort of modifications as the CM's at the parks, with the exception of annual and seasonal passes. The only place you can purchase the annual/seasonal pass is at the parks so any modifications must take place there as well.

Great, just great!! I guess I will have to really plan my park days out carefully now. The rest of our party will be hopping, but we will have to stay in one park a day. I really misunderstood :confused3 something last year when I bought them. Thanks for posting... :eeyore: what an Eeyore day for me!

I just wanted to post again because I broke down and called CRO and spoke with tickiting. The CM there said that because I had non expiring tickets that the hopper option could be put on at anytime at any one of the parks. He said that it would be $45 per ticket. Just wanted to clear that up since the concensus on my post was that it couldnt be done. My day is looking a bit brighter :sunny: . That black cloud is disappearing

I would be careful about the information you get on the phone. I have heard about a lot of information given out which was incorrect.

I believe Chesire Figment works in ticketing at Disney and I would really go with what they have to say about it. (Chesire-please correct me if I'm wrong)

Okay, I am confused again. I did call CRO and spoke with a CM in ticketing. They told me that I could add the hopper. I guess I will just have to wait till I get there and ask at the Guest Relations. I will plan our park days as if we cant hop, then adjust if we are able to.

The people at CRO/WDTC only sell rooms and packages. They are not familiar with the ticketing upgrade rules.

The following is a clip and paste from the Disney Cast Portal:

"Main >> Ticket Announcement Archive >> Upgrades: Business Rules & Procedures >> Upgrade Window

Upgrade Window
Date: 11/08/2006

UPGRADE WINDOW

Magic Your Way Tickets

* Guests are invited to upgrade or modify their existing Magic Your Way Tickets anytime within 14 days from the date of first use, regardless of whether the No Expiration Option is purchased.

* After 14 days from the date of first use, no ticket modifications or upgrades may take place."

I work in Tickets/Guest Relations at one of the Parks. I deal with this on a regular basis.

Thanks Cheshire Figment. The prompts on the phone told me I was speaking with ticketing so I figured he knew what he was talking about. I will plan my days accordingly with no park hopping.
