Where should we stay just to sleep?

This is my vote too. We have stayed here many times pre-cruise. It was appreciated even more when our 9pm flight was delayed due to Tstorms down the whole east coast. Instead of arriving at 11:30pm, we didn't even take off from Philly until 12:30am. We arrived around 2:30am. I was so happy to just stagger to our room and crash.

It isn't cheap but it's wonderful for early departures or late arrivals.

View from our balcony.

That is a nice view the runway views have nothing fun going on lol

We got a runway view when our boys were little so they could watch planes take off and land.
There is a roof top pool where you can see the runways too.
I had a runaway view of the last two times. I never got to see planes takeoff or land mainly because we slept in.

It was constant when we had one. Maybe they have some runways busier than others. Last time I booked, I saw that a runway view was a paid upgrade. It was probably 2008-2010 when we had it and we just asked at check in.

My last one was July 17 of this year and then the one before it was July of last year neither one I saw really any planes and both times I believe we got upgraded for free because of our flight I didn’t leave until the time after was supposed to

We just got back from WDW. We stayed at AS Music for the first night. I was looking off grounds and my DD (24) said we have to be on!! Since she has a "career" job, she paid! It was very nice. I did look at the Swan and Dolphin. Through a discounted website they were listing rooms low $100s. I was going to do this, but with all the fees and add-ons they make you pay the bill would have been well over $200. You want to include those fees that off ground hotels have when making your decision. Check out any codes that are out there too for Disney hotels.

Last year we stayed at the Residence Inn on Palm Parkway through points. We got in late because of Tstorms - 2am to hotel. The worker felt bad for us and did not charge the parking fee! It was old, but clean. Breakfast was included. We rented a car so it was easy to move the next day.

You could stay out near MCO at a hotel that has a free shuttle. Shuttle to the hotel, stay over night, shuttle back to the airport, take Mears to your Disney hotel. Even easier is to just take a cab from the airport hotel to Disney, but it might cost a bit. I'd search on Orbitz or Expedia, choosing "airport shuttle" as a filter.

I would go with All Stars. Since you won't have a vehicle, switching to a Disney resort would involve transportation to GF likely at the time you'd like to hit your first park. I'd recommend All Stars as you can head to the park and meet your luggage later at GF!
Definitely this.
Hyatt at MCO is 2nd choice. The least hassle options are going to be the better choice.
Least hassle is Hyatt, cheaper & least hassle is All-Stars.

Not sure why I even chime in on these kinds of things, I’m so far from the expert. lol

There is no expert. It's simply a matter of opinion and choice. No wrong answers. :goodvibes
If you want convenience, it will cost more.
If you don't mind taking shuttles, you will save money.
If you don't have children, it will be faster and easier to move from place to place.
If you don't pack a lot, you won't have a lot of bags to move.
If you don't mind a longer ride upon arrival, potentially in the wee hours of morning, you will wake up in WDW.
