Where Should We Go For Our Last Park Day?

We are planning our very first visit to WDW in late January 2019 (me, DS12, DS10, DS8, and DD6). 5 Day Base tickets - no hoppers. I used crowd calendars to attempt to choose the parks that are predicted to be the least busy.

Itinerary:

Day 1 = AK
Day 2 = HS EMM (stay at HS until early afternoon - back to Resort to nap) and then MK DAH.
Day 3 = Sleep in, have a late breakfast. Head to MK around 12:00 pm and stay until 8:00 pm close.
Day 4 = EPCOT
Day 5 = ??? ME to airport 5:00 pm.

Thoughts as to which park we should visit on the 5th day? I was thinking about just letting the kids decide which park to revisit on the last day, but the planner in me hates that idea. Thoughts as to our itinerary in general? TY!

I’d do MK. It’s the heart of WDW and since you’re first timers you’ll definitely want a lot of time to soak it in. Your kids will most likely love it and will enjoy the extra time there. We start and end every trip there.

MK, because there are so many great things to do there even without prebooked FPs. (Carousel of Progress, People Mover, etc.)

We always do MK on the first day and last day, tradition for us. Have fun!

You won't be able to do HS and MK both on day 2 without hoppers.

I would pick a park and make a loose plan and FP+ and then let the kids decide once you are down there. You will have seen all of the parks by the last day, so you won't know until you get there what you'd like to revisit or do in case you've missed something. It's hard to know, before you've been there, what they will like most.

I’d book fast passes for MK and remain flexible enough to change parks once arriving if you realize there is another park where you prefer to return.

I would have them decide now. So u can get passes. My kids fav has always been Hollywood studios then magic kingdom.

If you want to get a FP for Flight of Passage I would recommend going to AK last.

I can’t tell the kids - it is a Christmas surprise . I will definitely make FPs and ADRs and then hope that is the park they want to revisit!

I'd leave it as a "let's see what ADRs and FP are available the night before" maybe there was a ride you missed or wanted to do again!!

We always do MK on 1st and last day.
As we walk out- we turn back to look at the castle one more time and I have a good cry!

Which resort are you staying at? If one of the MK resorts - I'd choose MK ( easy to get to/from for MDE ). AKL, Coronado and All Star resorts - AKL for same reasons.

The resort of the resort areas - HS. ( and because you only have a 1/2 day planned there currently )

I'd avoid Epcot because it's so spread out - there's quite a bit of space to cover even in future world which can suck up a lot of the short time you'll have that day to do/see things.
