Should we eat at Mama's Melrose or Hollywood and Vine?? We are on the dining plan and wondering what is better food plus where we get more for the money....Thanks!!!!!

They are both very good, but I honestly recomend mama's Melrose. Hollywood and Vine had a menu that it's kinda weird and not so kid friendly.

Neither, go to 50's Prime Time or head over to Epcot.

H&V was horrible, I mean really gross and the service was non existant.

MM was very bland and lukewarm food.

I have to agree I've eaten at H&V a few times and every time the food gets worse.

I've eaten at Hollywood & Vine twice, the last time in 2004. We all loved the food. My daughter even loved it and she is really picky. When we were there they had 3 excellent meat selections, salmon, chicken, and some kind of red meat. Lots of vegetables, salads, and other side dishes. The first time we went they still had Minnie and friends there and the character interaction was great too. It was one of the best meals we had at Disney. Maybe things have changed in the last few years. But based on my experience I would highly recommend it.

We did H&V last fall and won't go back. Our local Golden Corral had better food and service, and that's saying a lot.

We just got home and ate at Hollywood and Vine. I wished we had went somewhere else... enough said :sad2:

Hollywood and Vine is probably the worst of the buffets we've eaten at. Mama Melrose's is a personal favorite of mine. The food is great and they'll happily prepare anything on the menu any way you want it. I usually get the Seafood Fra Diavolo which comes with shrimp, calamari, mussels and clams in a spicy marinara sauce, but I get it shrimp only (and there's LOTS of shrimp) in a non-spicy marinara. The Charred Butcher Tender Steak is also very good. Even if we weren't crazy about the entrees though, I think I might still have to eat there just for the Warm Chocolate Truffle Cake. It a round chocolate cake with a warm chocolate liquid center. The cake is sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with raspberry sauce. Several other restaurants in WDW have similar desserts, but IMO none are as good.

we ate at HV in 2005 and it was HORRIBLE. my uncle kept talking it up so my dad agreed that all 9 of us would go, and afterwards I could not wait to get back to WL to roaring forks to get a "decent" meal. Although I hear it used to be good w/characters too but all we got was really horrible food. We usually eat at Sci-Fi when we are there and Prime Time when we were younger...both have really good food.
