Where should we eat lunch on arrival day?

DH, my dad (81), and I arrive at All Star Sports at around 12:00pm on a Wednesday in December. We will be hungry as our flight leaves at 7:00am! Here's my options and concerns.

We will be on the dining plan so we do want to use a counter service credit for lunch that day (table service dinner is at 7:25 at Biergarten), but we don't HAVE to.:confused3

I figure our choices are to eat at the airport (we arrive at about 10:00am), delaying our Magical Express trip (yuck..... ), or at the ASSp foodcourt (doable, but we aren't sure what to get  ),and there's no guarantee our room will be available.

Or eat at Epcot, either at Electric Umbrella or Sunshine Seasons (but I'm worried that will take way too long :scared: ) And where exactly is the Electric Umbrella? Is it close to the entrance at Epcot?

Any advice would be gratefully accepted! :worship:

I would eat at the ASSp food court. If you go to EPCOT: You arrive at the resort, then register to get your KTTW cards, ride the bus, go through security, enter EPCOT and walk to a CS place, you'll be more than just hungry by the time you get to eat. Even if your room isn't ready, eat at the food court, then go off and do something else for the afternoon.

I agree with previous poster...eat at your resort. And, if you decide to eat at Epcot, skip Electric Umbrella--we ate there last month and it was not good at all.

Maybe after you check in head to DTD and have lunch at Earl of Sandwhich, then stroll around the Marketplace until your rooms ready.

I concur - either eat at the resort or eat at Earl of Sandwich and stroll DTD. Earl of Sandwich rocks!

Another vote for CS at your resort!:thumbsup2
With such an early morning flight, you will most likely be pretty hungry by the time you check-in. Get some nourishment and then you'll be all set for EPCOT with plenty of energy!

It depends on how hungry you are when you get to your resort. I would rather eat somewhere in WS than the foodcourt. But if your hungry go ahead and eat. The dining plan already forces you to plan your vacation around it (TS). I would let your stomachs plan the CS.

You could always grab a quick bite to go at your resort food court if you are really hungry when you arrive. Pay OOP or use 1 or 2 CS credits for your entire party to split. Lots of CS meals can be split: a large sandwich, pizza, etc. Just enough to keep your tummy from growling.

Then use CS credits for some yummy items (again maybe to split) from World Showcase. There are so many options there. You'll enjoy Biergarten!

Resort it shall be! Thanks everyone! Now can anyone recommend anything good to eat at the All Star Sports food court at lunch time?

I see that the majority of people have recommended food court, but we're arriving around the same time and we're going to get lunch at Epcot. I just don't want to waste CS credits at the food court when I could get some really good food in the WS at Epcot. Just my 2 cents..

I agree with the other posters that suggested going to DTD. I would also not want to waste one of my Dining credits on the food court. If I was going to eat my first meal at the food court I would pay OOP and save the CS for breakfast the following day or use it at another time during my stay. Food courts are ok for the snack credits, but to get my money's worth we will use the CS dining plan credits at the better food, higher price CS choices.
