My DH and I have our favorite WDW restaurants, but our friends who will be vacationing at WDW this week are vegetarians, and we are not. Any suggestions where they may enjoy a vegetarian dinner??

My daughter likes Marrakesh! ( Epcot) She also enjoyed Tusker House ( AK) this past August!

For Vegetarian it is a bit easier. Several of the restaurants have Vegetarian menus, just ask. There is usually only one or two options, but that is better than many restaurants outside of the Parks/Disney Resorts. I was told by the guest services that every table service has to offer a vegetarian option.

Lot of good eats for Vegetarians, a bit trickier for Vegans. Boma was recommended to me a few years back and to this day it is my favorite.

You will find a vegetarian entree option at every table service location. Some locations also have one or two other options that are easily modified. Most (probably all) restaurants have vegetarian appetizers, some have several. Spoodles is one place we go every trip for both these reasons.

On our last trip (three weeks ago) had a delicious meal at Flying Fish -- fantastic caprese salad, asparagus soup (minus the lobster), and pasta with mushrooms.

Encourage your friends to speak to the chef at any TS if they have questions about modifications. THe chefs love the opportunity to do something special and are very accommodating.

There are veggie options at most (but not all) counter service locations too. Many have veggie wrap or other sandwiches, salads, and you can get a veggie burger anywhere you can get a regular one (even if it is not on the menu, just ask). Probably the two best counter service for veggie options are in Epcot -- Sunshine Seasons (The Land) and Tangerine Cafe (Morocco).

As others have said, WDW is actually a great place for vegetarians. I'll just add that vegetarian chili is also among the counter service options in a few places. Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure Columbia Harbour House serves vegetarian chili and a really good hummus, tomato, and broccoli sandwich.

Boma!!
50s Prime Time- The Stuffed Pepper was one of my best meals
California Grill- Veg sushi and they also do a plate call Vegetarian Unplugged. It's not on the menu, but is all of the veg friendly sides from the other entrees. I've had both and loved both!

Those are my top picks, but it's very easy being a veg in Disney :goodvibes

With a few exceptions, I wasn't all that thrilled with the vegetarian options at the restaurants we visited on our recent trip. First let me start with the places I would heartily recommend. These are The Wave (the new restaurant in the Contemporary, love the vegetable stew and pasta!), Boma, Artist Point (for the potstickers but, alas, the portobello mushroom soup has chicken stock as its base), and Crystal Palace in the MK (I was pleasantly surprised that along with Pooh and friends I got wonderful vegetarian options). I also liked Columbia Harbor House in the MK. Not so great were Kona Cafe (Poly), Hollywood Brown Derby (DHS), Flame Tree Barbeque (AK) and Bistro de Paris (EPCOT). In fact at the Bistro, I ordered my meal from the downstairs restaurant, Chefs de France, and had it delivered upstairs because there was literally nothing I could eat. Contrary to what I was told, chefs were not eager to discuss options with me...in fact the only chef who did so was the one at the Wave. Most of the other chefs communicated thorugh the waitstaff. Unfortunately, my experience was that most thought that it was okay to give me a plate of the sides (meat removed), and charge nearly the same price for the dish as it would have been had it contained meat! Beware the soups as a whole, because most seem to contain chicken broth. I was, as a whole, surprised that beans, nuts, and grains weren't used more: a plate of vegetables does not a vegetarian meal make!
