Where should I pop the question!?

I'm seriously considering asking my girlfriend of two years to marry me at DisneyWorld, it just feels right. The only ideas I have so far is to do it on the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage during Wish. Or on our own Private Boat during Wish, watching the fireworks of course.

Have any of you ever been on these, would it be romantic or surprising at all?
What it be better to be closer to the castle for Wish instead? Also if you have any other ideas I am all ears!

Thanks!

Edit: Thanks everyone, I have already proposed now and pictures our on page 3 :)

Although we got engaged right in my living room and are getting married at Disney, my IDEAL spot would be in the middle of Main Street USA during Wishes. I am certain that both of your venues would be perfect - IMO it's more about the people and the experience than the location!

Congrats and I'm sure wherever you choose it will be perfect. I wouldn't change my "In my PJs in the living room engagement" for anything!

I know my suggestion won't be in the MK, but I am hoping to be proposed to in WDW, but I absolutely love Epcot and during Illuminations in the World Showcase. Like picking one of the countries to have dinner at then watching Illuminations while popping the question...Good Luck on your decision :)

i got propsed to in september and although he knew he would do it at disney he wasn't sure when or how. He took me around all these places that had been suggested on the boards (me -non the wiser) but none of them felt right.

as it started to rain before spectromagic we took cover in the rose garden and as luck would have it a disney photgrapher came down to get out of the rain too. He hadn't planned it but it just felt right and we managed to get photos of the moment he asked me too! so maybe pick a day and then find a time that feels right! not very helpful i know but some of the best things are the ones unplanned!

ooh and another thing, i thought i would really want to be asked at CRT that we had booked. But during the dinner someone else got proposed to and I thought thank god that I didn't get asked as well. there's nothing like some else stealing your thunder! just something to keep in mind!

Got engaged in elsewhere,

but always liked the wishing well by the castle...never anyone around and its a great "special" spot

I think anywhere during Wishes would be great. My vote is for a private fireworks cruise, but on the beach at the poly would be nice too. I don't think I'd like to be on main st for it - too crowded and not as romantic. :lovestruc

Oh, if it were my DH, he would LOVE to be proposed to in the lobby of the GF - he thinks that's the coolest place ever! I think one day while making plans for your trip, ask her what her absolute favorite place is in WDW and try to come up with a cool way to do it there!

Thanks Everyone!

I'm leaning towards the private cruise during Wish, but I still can't make up my mind. She loves the water. I might just bring the ring with me wherever we go just in case.

Any more ideas are much appreciated!

Do you have the pictures online somewhere? I'd love to see them, it sounds so perfect and romantic. :)

Just make sure that if you take the ring with you everywhere that it doesn't fall out of your pocket!!!

I was proposed to in our livingroom..and it was perfect-for us. I liked the intimacy of it being just us.

I vote for the private cruise!

We got engaged at CRT in the MK. If you get there at the right time, the fireworks will be going off right outside the window. It is really nice there. We also got champagne flutes and we used them on our wedding day (which was also in disney) so it was even more memorable to have those special pieces as part of our special day. Good Luck!

My Husband proposed at the California Grill during the Wishes fireworks.

It was funny, he did not take into account that it was October and he would be proposing during the romantic HalloWishes fireworks! lol

He popped the question during the Cruella Devil song!

I wouldnt change it for all the money in the world!

But it was funny lol...poor guy, that sorta thing happens to him all the time lol

Good Luck!

I just got engaged and as a gift my sister gave me the book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World for Grown Ups". Page 230-231 lists a bunch of ideas for Walt Disney World Proposals. If you have a Borders or another book store in you neighborhood you could check it out without having to purchase it (although it does make a great engagement gift!)

I dont know if you went and proposed yet but my fiance proposed to me this last September in Disney World. I wanted to view the wedding pavillion because I had always seen it from the monorail. When we were walking through it, I stopped to look out the window to see Cinderella's Castle and he got down on one knee! It was really romantic and we were lucky enough to be the only people in there! I recommend somewhere not so crazy crowded! Good luck!

I got engaged in my apt living room and it was wonderful...but if it were to happen at WDW I would have liked it at Epcot. Epcot is very special and meaningful to us. It was the first park we went to and a moment we treasure from it is there is this little cafe in France were you can get food and deserts. There are also little tables set up there. It's really a romantic nice area and you can kinda see the Eiffel Tower in the background. I also recommend that sit down Mexican restaurant since you have the water running through it there with the ride. Really romantic too.
However, where ever you do propose to her, she will love it no matter what. Good Luck!!! :)

I second the suggestion of proposing at the wedding pavilion when nobody is there. Private and so romantic!

My dfiance planned for five months on how to propose to me and designed/carved the ring. He knew it would be either at MGM or Epcot. The kicker was he had his mother ask all of us to pick a place for a family photo and nixed Epcot since it "was ugly" without the bridge light up for the holidays. So, he proposed to me under the Osbourne Lights right after TSO's Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 94. In the middle of the street, in front of the photographer and everyone else with his family present. So perfect!

So, find a spot you know she or both of you love, and do it there. If you can, enlist help to sniff out a spot.

My husband proposed during dinner at CRT with a glass slipper and roses, it was perfect for us!

it's all about what fits both of your personalities. If you like animals, safari types of things - ask Guest Services at Animal Kingdom to help you make something happen. They are willing to help. There are so many options, so it really depends on what fits you both. If you are of a certain decent, maybe try going to a corresponding restaurant in Epcot before the Fireworks and proposing then. Any way you do it will be amazing to her. My fiance acted like we were having our picture taken and all of my family was there, I was completely shocked (even though I had been bugging him to propose in Disney....he still tricked me by waiting until mid week!!)

(my fiance proposed in front of the castle, he liked that it's the disney world icon, so that's why he went with the classic...)

The Wishes cruise would be perfect.

Give your driver a heads up before you go and he/she can take pictures of the special moment.

You can also call Disney Florist to either have something delivered to the boat (chocolate covered strawberries, roses, etc.) or have something waiting in the room for after the proposal.

Good luck and have fun!!!!
