I have never been to Disney for my birthday before. It is in November so we are coming up on 180 days. We won't have dressy clothes, so it has to be casual dress. I'd really like a special birthday dessert. Suggestions? Thanks.

Budget? Food likes? What do you mean by special birthday dessert? A good dessert, something that says Happy Birthday?

Disney restaurants with exception of Victoria and Albert's, have relaxed quite a bit with their dress codes. I had my solo birthday dinner at California Grill this past October. It was wonderful. If you let them know that you are celebrating your birthday, they will decorate your dessert (not free!!) with a birthday chocolate square.

If you are more interested in a special dessert than fancy/more upscale meal, you can go to Beaches & Cream and order a kitchen sink for your table.

For outstanding food and service, I would choose Flying Fish, Monsieur Paul or Yachtsman Steakhouse. Those three are on the more expensive side, but the quality would make for a memorable birthday dinner. A less expensive option is the Grand Floridian Cafe. It is a pretty setting, and the food is good. For a birthday dinner a while back the GFC presented a large hand-painted chocolate tile. I don’t know if that is still offered, but it was a nice birthday surprise for our table.
