Where Should I Buy WDW Tickets?

Going to the World in March (hurray!).

Want to take advantage the second ticket 1/2 price Canadian special WDW tickets.
Also looking for Seaworld and Universal tickets (think these are available at par somewhere?)

But I don't have a travel agent -- have just booked air fare and hotel directly.
Where should I go to get these tickets? If I go to a travel agent without using them for airfare and hotel, is that fair to the travel agent (do they make any money on the tickets)?

I'm in Toronto. Looking for suggestions. Not currently a CAA member (but guess I would join if necessary for the Universal/Seaworld tickets).

Thanks!

Hi mloren. I am a TA, and I can tell you that we do definitely make money from the sale of Disney tickets. The three day Universal ticket is available at par for $117 Can until Dec 31, and $123 Can after that until May 31. Sea World tickets are availabe for $58 Can for one day and $106 for a two day two park pass which includes Busch Gardens in Tampa. These passes are also all available through a TA. I have ordered passes for people in the past when they have booked their hotel room on line and can tell you that I have been happy for the business and for the opportunity to help a prospective client. I am sure that most TA's feel this way as well, so please don't hesitate to contact someone. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, let me know.

Pooh....Im glad I read your post. I was just wondering the same thing. I went to Sears the other day to check their prices. The TA there called Holiday House and then told me the total for 2 adults and 3 kids would be $1652. Thats OK....then she added that since we didn't book hotel and Air thru them (I booked Air online, and HIFS directly), ther would be a $25 service charge. I thought oh-well, I guess Ill pay that if that is the normal procedure, I thought I guess they are doing me a favour, and I didnt make them any $$ with hotel or air. Now Im wondering if I should try somewhere else. I will get Sears points if I book at Sears, but I'll have to figure out if the points will make up for the $25. Dont get me wrong, I dont want the TA to work for nothing, but you mentioned in your post that they do get paid for selling the passes. Anyway, we aren't going 'til Jan 31st, so I have a while to dcide.
Bye for now,
Karen

Karen: Many travel agencies have been forced to implement service charges as airline commissions have been decreased to TA's. This is obviously a policy that has been implemented by Sears travel which they have extended to ticket only sales, and is certainly within their rights to do so. For example, the office I work in does charge an admin fee if someone is purchasing air tickets, or even in some cases if the hotel is the only thing being booked. Obviously policies will be made by each individual agency so be sure to ask before ordering your tickets.

Hi,

We're going in January so I've been doing our calling around to get the prices. Through my TA the regular price is $469, the second pass at half price is 234.50, 379 for the first child pass, and the second child pass at half price at 189.50. I called the Disney Store and got a price of 494.69 for the first adult pass, 247.34 for the second pass, 298.00 for the child pass and 199. for the second child pass. Finally, I called CAA and was quoted the price in US dollars. I asked for the quote in Canadian dollars and it was $508. for the first adult pass. At that point I thanked her and hung up. So, it seems that going through my TA is definitely the best deal for us at this point. Even with a service charge it is still cheaper.

Hope this is of some assistance!
