Aside from Pizza Planet, I want to try one sit down restaurant while at Disney this year. I have three kids 8, 6 and 5. Which restaurant do youthink would be best? The most pickiest eater is my 5 year old. He only likes chicken, pizza, mac and cheese and mexican food. There are so many restaurants available there I'm clueless as to where to start. For my family of five, I don't want to go over $125.00 + tip.

What can you suggest please?

Well are you dining more for the kids or do you want something more else?

If you are dining for the kids, I would choose a character meal. This will also provide options for your picky eater since all the character meals are either buffet or family-style meals with lots of basic kid fare.

If you want to go that route, I would suggest:
BF at Tusker House in AK (Donald and some of the other classic characters)

BF, Lunch, or Dinner at The Crystal Palace in MK (Winnie the Pooh and friends) - My favorite breakfast in Disney!

BF or Dinner at Chef Mickey's at the CR (Mickey and the classics) - although this gets the most mixed reviews on food quality

Dinner at The Garden Grill in Epcot (Chip, Dale, Mickey, Pluto)

BF at Cape May Cafe in the BC (Minnie, Donald, Goofy) - I liked the food a lot here

BF at 'Ohana in the Poly (Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto) - I didn't think the food was very good here though.

Breakfast will be cheaper than lunch or dinner at the above places, but I think all of them, even at dinner will keep you just under or right at the $125.

If you do NOT want a character meal, but still want to go somewhere the kids might enjoy, and have the type of kids offerings to appease the picky eater, I would suggest:

50's Prime Time Cafe (HS) Fun antics and old tv clips in a 50's style 'house'
Sci-Fi Dine In (HS) Eat in a car while watching old sci-fi movie clips
Coral Reef (Epcot) View the aquariums while you eat
Sanaa (AKL Kidani) Views of the animals on the savannahs
Whispering Canyon Cafe (WL) Silly antics in a western setting
Rainforest Cafe (AK or DTD) Rainforest decor
T-REX (DTD) Dinosaur/prehistoric decor

For those restaurants, I think it's possible to keep it under $125 but since the menus are a la carte, you could stay under or go over depending on how much food you want to order.

Menus and prices here:http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

My personal choices would be Crystal Palace for a character meal or Sanaa for a non-character meal.

First, just to let you know, Pizza Planet is a counter service meal not a table service meal. I wouldn't want you to go there expecting to have a waiter or waitress serve you.

Second, are you looking for a character meal or just a meal in general? If you are planning on a character meal and really need to stay under the $125+tip, a character breakfast is going to be less expensive and should keep you under that cost. Just to show you the difference I did some quick math for Crystal Palace. For your family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) the cost would be $127.95+tip for dinner and $84.95+tip for breakfast.

My advice would be to go to a site like allears and look at the menus (and prices). Then pick a few places and work your way from there. There are a ton of options and a ton of opinions on each place. Sometimes its best to do some research on your own instead of asking such a vague question. If enough people respond you could end up more confused then when you started.

We are definitely looking for a sit-down one. We are indeed going to chef mickey's on June 1 but I'm looking for a non-buffet place in addition. I'll try this allears site and see what I can find :)

I just re-read my first post to you on this thread, sorry if it came off as rude. I didn't mean to come off like that and felt bad after reading it.

With that being said, allears should at least help you get yourself in the right direction. Perhaps after you narrow your options down to a select few that you cannot decide between, start a new thread with a poll. You will usually get more responces that way. Enjoy the TS search, it's one of my favorite parts of planning a trip.:thumbsup2
