Where Pixie-Dusted Birthday Dreams Come True! A July Trip Report! PTR Link! Pg. 116

Thanks for your continued great updates, Jackie! I'll sure be sad when your TR ends. My family thinks that it's odd how I follow along with other families vacations. I tried to explain that the main purpose of reading a TR was to help fend off the "Disney Blues", but I don't think they got it. :rolleyes1 Does your family get it or does they think it's a bit wacky too?

Life keeps getting in the way of my DIS boarding, too.

Take your time! Don't forget there are links on the front page.

Caught up! Well, I guess I could certainly use those links, couldn't I?? But then I would miss all the good stuff inbetween. ;)

I loved hearing Chelsea's point of view about the camera ordeal. "Free stuff when you cry." :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Le Cellier! YUM!! That picture of the cheddar cheese soup seriously mesmerized me...I was like in some sort of trance! I suddenly caught myself and said, "what am I doing? And, how long have I been staring at this soup??" :rotfl2:

Nice soccer shirts! We bought the same World Cup one, but in black, for my BIL whose bday it was while we were at WDW. Ramon's family are HUGE soccer fans! (They're from Spain - it is THE thing over there.)

Miren really likes the KP missions, too. We did one again this summer after not having done any on the past few trips. We did France. I liked it because we saw things in France that we had never seen before. I usually just head straight for the bakery. :rolleyes1

How nice of Chelsea and Charles to volunteer you to do KP with Connor.;)
Seems like you and Charles switched bodies that night. I just love Illuminations.
I must get HM playing cards! Did they have any others or just HM?

Hey Jackie.....Are We going to get an update this weekend???? Waiting patiently! popcorn::

Can Connor come with us in October? For the last three trips, we have said that we are going to do a KP mission. To date, we have done approximately zero. :upsidedow

Connor would make sure you do one. He wouldn't stop pestering you until you did. LOL!

Make sure you ask him about KP missions when we meet next weekend.

I am thinking since we (Brooklynn and I) won't have hoppers for this trip, and we know we will be in Epcot in the morning, take an afternoon break, and then go back to Epcot - maybe we can get one in. :cool2:

Doing one in the evening is great! From now on we are always going to try and do that.

Ten days until the Great Atlanta Cupcake Meet! :dance3:

One Week now!!! Have we decided which mall yet?

Great update! Love Epcot shopping!

Conner is just a hilarious!

Thanks! Connor keeps us laughing, that's for sure! We love to shop in Epcot as well!

Thanks!!! I will be sad, too, especially if I don't have a trip to start a PTR about. I still have three full days left on this one so it should last a bit longer. ;)

My family used to think it was a bit odd, but now they are completely used to it. I think it helps that I always come up with great tips and tricks from the others' TR that I read.

Thanks! It was fantastic. I just took lots of pain meds ;)
Have you booked your 2011 trip yet? Hmmmmm popcorn::

Are you all better now after your visit to the dentist?

No 2011 trip booked yet -- I am fighting against throwing the DC trip to the wind and booking for Memorial Day week to take advantage of the Free Dining. The lure of free food is very enticing. We are planning to go the week before Christmas in 2011.

Caught up! Well, I guess I could certainly use those links, couldn't I?? But then I would miss all the good stuff inbetween. ;)

 This is true! My mom reads my chapters but never the chatter in between, and I always tell her that is some of the best stuff. LOL!

I loved hearing Chelsea's point of view about the camera ordeal. "Free stuff when you cry." :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Isn't that great? It may become one of our catch-phrases! I know she wishes it would work in the real world.

Le Cellier! YUM!! That picture of the cheddar cheese soup seriously mesmerized me...I was like in some sort of trance! I suddenly caught myself and said, "what am I doing? And, how long have I been staring at this soup??" :rotfl2:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Yep, we are huge soccer fans, too. Charles has coached for years, and my nephew plays -- both of our kids have played before, too.

Miren really likes the KP missions, too. We did one again this summer after not having done any on the past few trips. We did France. I liked it because we saw things in France that we had never seen before. I usually just head straight for the bakery. :rolleyes1

That's one of the things I like about the KP missions -- it slows us down, and we really get to explore the countries.

How nice of Chelsea and Charles to volunteer you to do KP with Connor.;)
Seems like you and Charles switched bodies that night. I just love Illuminations.
I must get HM playing cards! Did they have any others or just HM?

I didn't mind -- I liked hanging out with Connor.

We had a couple of other body switching moments on the trip.

They did have some Disney Star Wars ones that I wish I had picked up.

Hey Jackie.....Are We going to get an update this weekend???? Waiting patiently! popcorn::

Yes, getting ready to type one this morning. :goodvibes

July 20, 2010: Part One

On this Tuesday morning, some of us were more ready than others to get up and moving.

I woke up. Charles woke up. Connor woke up and got dressed with no grumbling.

Chelsea pulled the covers over head and whined, “How come we are on vacation, and we can’t sleep late???”

To which I responded, “We have been sleeping late all summer. Now, get up!”

We drove to Animal Kingdom -- I really must say I liked the whole driving ourselves to the parks on this trip.

111.jpg

As we approached the gates, Charles stopped at the coffee kiosk to get our coffee drinks for the morning. Iced cappuccinos are such a lovely way to start the day.

Once in the park, Charles wanted to stop and see the different insects and such the CMs were holding at the entrance of the Oasis. We looked at giant grasshoppers, tarantulas, hissing cockroaches, and spiders. Then, we meandered towards Dinoland in the comparative morning coolness. It was very nice and quiet heading in this direction.

Good morning, Tree of Life!

Good morning, Dinoland!

We stopped to see one of our favorite dinosaurs. I think the kids have posed on this dinosaur on every trip.

120.jpg

121.jpg

122.jpg

We walked through the gift shop, and the kids and Charles headed off to ride Primeval Whirl.

123.jpg

124.jpg

I headed off to grab Fast Passes for Everest.

125.jpg

That walk was not nearly as cool, and I ended up behind a Brazilian tour group leader who had a stack of tickets several inches thick!!! Yikes!!! She was kind enough to do a stack and let someone else behind her grab their Fast Passes, so it didn’t take quite as long as I thought it would.

When I met back up with the gang, we went to ride Dinosaur in the front row! We love that ride, but as you will see, some of us experience more of the ride than others.

126.jpg

Charles commented on how it was a good idea to take a picture of the picture, and when I said it was called a Redneck Ride Photo on the DIS boards, he thought it was hilarious.

We had to snap a picture with this fierce dinosaur.

127.jpg

Good-bye, Dinoland! We’re off to Asia!!!

I was the same way when I was 13... "Moooommm, I want to sleep late." Which is really a lie when it comes down to it - you're in Disney, and as soon as you get moving you know it was worth it :thumbsup2

I hide my face in my lap EVERY time I ride Dinosaur... and yet I still go on every time. Just doesn't make sense - but at least im not the only one :goodvibes

Really enjoying the TR - thanks for sharing!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: to your dinosaur picture!!!!!! But at least you went on! I'm sure you didn't do that the whole ride! Now what about EE? Did you ride it?

Loved the update! Love AK! Such a gorgeous park.

Now you see why we drive everywhere except MK. Pretty painless!

Chelsea is acting all of her 13 years. Just wait until next year when she refuses to get out of bed and tells you she will meet your later. Well, actually you might have 2 years before that happens.

I swear, your Dinosaur ride photo looks like a modified see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. It is too funny! :lmao:

Driving to the parks is sooo easy and quick....If you are getting there for opening you never have to take a tram in because you are so closer to the front.

This all looks so familiar. :)

Your Dino picture came out great!
I have many redneck photos. ;)

I think we decided we would try the mall nearest Dawn unless that inconveniences you and Heather. If it does, we'll do one meet wherever you guys want and then see Dawn at her mall in the evening. You and Heather can get together and decide. We will plan to meet around 11:30. What do you think?

Loved the last two updates....Connor is a hoot...great that he plays along w/ the CM's  I think some evil villan erases my memory on a daily basis ;)

our first KPM was in Germany too...

and kiwi candy treats in Japan....:thumbsup2 I must find those...yum.

We try that red neck picture taking thing too...but ours never come out as sharp as yours...I have rode Dinosaur once and well once was enough for me....

looking forward to more!

Looks like a fun morning in AK! I will have to confess, however, to sharing Chelsea's thoughts on sleeping and vacation. ::yes::

I have heard that the coffee stand outside AK is a good source of "good coffee." I'm not sure I could have investigated all those creepy crawlies with you. :scared:

I really need to explore Dinoland on an upcoming trip. Seems like there is so much in AK I haven't seen.

Love the Dinosaur picture!!

Hope the second half of your day included a Lost on Safari. Oh and did you get to do that special taste of Africa thing? popcorn::

:lmao: You ride Dinosaur like I do - I really don't like that attraction, my kids force me to ride......

"Redneck Ride Photo"...that's hilarious:rotfl: The last time that we rode Dinosaur, they had a CM stationed at the photo command center specifically to deter this very thing. Needless to say, she took her job VERY seriously!!! It must have been her day off.

That picture is hysterical!

Oh Chelsea. I wish I could tell you it would get better, but it will be worse. However as long as there aren't enabling factors around her, you'll still be able to get her up.

AK is the one park where I really would have loved to have a car. It would have made a difference more than once on our trip. In general I am glad we avoided the cost but....

I'm in!
A little late...but all caught up now! :thumbsup2
So great that the camera was found! We too had a missing item one of the days we were there and luckily found a great CM to help us!
Great TR so far....cant wait to read more!

Great pictures of Animal Kingdom, I love the fact Connor and Chelsea are climbing all over the dinosaur.

Let me know which mall, I am going to try to make the Dis meet.
