Where Pixie-Dusted Birthday Dreams Come True! A July Trip Report! PTR Link! Pg. 116

:rotfl2: to the Connor Chronicles. He is one smart, funny and entertaining young man! Love the interaction with the CM and of course the bathrobe story is an instant classic!

Charles is really enjoying things this year. That's awesome!!

I could spend hours in the Japan store. SO much to see!

Love all your souvenirs. I will be looking for the HM cards when I visit. Very cool!

Connor has such a creative mind -- he always keeps us laughing. His latest thing is at night, he likes to put on his bathrobe (he is such an old man in some ways), and then he pretends to be a fencer of goods. There is something different every night. The latest thing was when I was sitting at the computer. He sidled up to me and said in his best throaty whisper, "Psst! Kid! I hear you're doing a math project. I have just the thing for you." Then he opened his bathrobe to reveal a tape measure. :lmao:
:rotfl2::rotfl2: Yes I am wiping tears too.

Oh, I was pretty out of sorts, but I was trying not to have a full scale temper tantrum. ;)

Do you think it was the lack of a plan? I know if people just want to "wander" and have nothing particular in mind it drives me nuts. I like to have a logical ( in my mind) progression and goal.:upsidedow

I agree! All of them are pretty fun and action-filled though. The England one is still my favorite.

I think I have only done the Germany, Norway, Mexico and maybe the China mission. Either I have watched some of the China mission or done it, I cannot remember. I need to get to " the other side".
I will convince my son to do at least one mission. I hope he can can get by the Kim Possible part of it. :rolleyes1

I am down to 6 more days. This time next week we will be at the airport.:dance3: Now to see if my tickers work. If not then I will redo them, I can't stand it!! It looks like they are back! YAY :cool1:

Oh, I forgot to mention, the picture of Chelsea in the car....get used to it! It will be here soon. :sad2: Kids grow up too stinkin' fast!

PHEW! I am FINALLY all caught up!

(She is the most forgetful child I have ever seen.)

Oh, I dunno. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I went to the mall when I was younger, I lost money. All of it. My parents used to joke that people would wait at the doors for me and then follow me around, waiting for that $10 or $20 to happily jump ship. LOL

The second time I saw it was at the Food and Wine Festival with Heidi, Kat, and her family. Charles had slept through it.

One day, some day, we can say you watched it with Heidi and fam, Kat and fam, and Tink and her BF, all with margaritas of their choice in hand. :goodvibes How much fun would that be?

Also, I swear I hit the 'quote' button for your Le Cellier chapter, but somehow it's missing. I loved both of my meals there. I've had dinner and lunch. I'm not sure if I agree that it's worth 2 TS credits for dinner starting in 2011, but I will DEFINITELY return there again.

Heck, I'd go there just for the soup.

Confession...I have never bought any of the famous goodies from the department store in Japan...unless plum wine from the sake stand counts :rolleyes1

My friend bought a sample of one of the plum wines when we were there in 08. She had the wine, I ate the plum. Oh. MY. So very good.

Great update CP. I am going to have to check out the Japanese dept. store. We haven't made it that far around the last two trips. Can't wait!!

And Abby just saw the cheerleader emoticon so here is one for her.
:cheer2:

Oh my gosh, that Connor! :rotfl2: I can totally see him doing that!!
We picked up a jersey for Baylor very similar to Charles' Italia shirt here at home! Since his conversion to soccer he has become very fond of wearing them...

This is such a pleasing change in Charles! I'm thinking he's a new man!!!
So glad he enjoyed Illumanations and you were able to avoid a full fledged hissy fit!

At 3 Carter is a little young for a Kim Possible mission, but I think his dad would love it. Carter is such a daddy's boy that I think they could do it together while Cindy and I do some shopping

I've never seen the kiwi gummy candy, but I love kiwi, I'm going to have to find some of that stuff and maybe try the grape too!

Terri

 Connor cracks me up with his CM interaction and his tape measure!!! He is one creative kid!! :cool2:
The store in Japan.....ahhhh I could spend hours in here. Love those gummies and those would be my two top choices too!!:thumbsup2 I also like watching the pick a pearl and the CM's there are the most pleasant you will find anywhere :goodvibes
:yay: for Charles asking to stay for Illuminations :) I think Epcot is the mother of all meltdown parks

Tracy

My girls enjoy the KP missions too. I have to limit them to 2 each time or I'd go nuts. I think they're cute but it's a lot of wandering back and forth around the country. Although I've seen things I've never noticed before.
They like the phone too. We have done Mexico, Norway, Germany and China now.

Connor - What a HOOT!!! The tape measure had me thinking flasher!

I am not a soccer fan and I think those shirts are cool.
I think Charles having a good time (and staying at the park!) must have thrown you off!! That and the lack of the GG slushie! But I'm glad you all got to see and enjoy Illuminations.

Sounds like a fun KP mission.....the kids love them, but I'm not a fan...at least not in August when it's sweltering outside!:lmao:

 for Illuminations....I love that show....it's one of my fav's!!!

Oh my gosh, I love Connor's wit! Living with him must keep you highly entertained

I'm thinking if you had only stopped in France to grab a slushie on the way to the KP mission, then all would have been right with the world....

And, go Charles suggesting you stay for Illuminations! Jackie, I must know your secret, how did this transformation come about????

Great update!! I loved that Chelsea received a Birthday call from Goofy!!! How awesome!! Connor is just adorable! It seems like your DH is warming up to Disney. It may take a lot of extra vacations there to really get him to become a fanatic (if you know what I mean..:rolleyes1:rolleyes1). Can't wait for another update.

Such a GREAT update! I was giggling all the way through, from "I can't remember!!!" to "mind-altering pretzels" to the "flighty side-kick." :lmao:

And yay for Charles!!!! Total Freaky Friday thing, but glad you decided to stay for the drums and fireworks...and that everyone stayed awake and enjoyed them. :goodvibes

I caught the comment about Connor and his bathrobe - hilarious!!!:rotfl:

All caught up!

Too funny about the role reversal with you and Charles. I think I am safe in betting that there will *never* be a scenario that I wouldn't want to stay for Illuminations and my DH would.:rotfl:

Love the Italia soccor shirt Charles picked up! Nice score on that!;)

He sidled up to me and said in his best throaty whisper, "Psst! Kid! I hear you're doing a math project. I have just the thing for you." Then he opened his bathrobe to reveal a tape measure. :lmao:

Wow. He's really imaginative! In about 20 years we should either introduce him to Tessa, or make one of them move to another continent. The other night at dinner she announced out of the blue "I feel a SONG coming on!". :lmao:

Freaky Friday is the only explanation for you and Charles. I'm convinced.

I have to agree with you, the crazy start to the beginning of the year has left me no time to DIS lately....ughhh....LOL!!!

Yep, it is very frustrating! I need my DIS time to make me a happy person! LOL!

:rotfl2: to the Connor Chronicles. He is one smart, funny and entertaining young man! Love the interaction with the CM and of course the bathrobe story is an instant classic!

I agree! Instant classics, both of them. I dread the day when he becomes a jaded teenager and decides it isn't cool to pretend. Maybe we will escape all of that.

Charles is really enjoying things this year. That's awesome!!

It was a nice change!

I could spend hours in the Japan store. SO much to see!

Same here! I always get home and wish I had bought something from there that I didn't. One of these days, I will actually buy the little bowls that I have been eyeing for years.

Love all your souvenirs. I will be looking for the HM cards when I visit. Very cool!

Thanks! They will be perfect around Halloween!

Nope, just a Wal-mart :sad2: and all they semm to be able to carry is Poky in original and strawberry.

You will definitely have to plan another trip to Disney to stock up then! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Yes I am wiping tears too.

He is such a hoot to be around.

Do you think it was the lack of a plan? I know if people just want to "wander" and have nothing particular in mind it drives me nuts. I like to have a logical ( in my mind) progression and goal.:upsidedow

That was probably some of it. It was also the fact that I was feeling like I was sacrificing some of the things I wanted to do because I wanted everyone else to have a good time and do what they wanted. Missing Soarin' and Captain EO really put me out of sorts.

I think I have only done the Germany, Norway, Mexico and maybe the China mission. Either I have watched some of the China mission or done it, I cannot remember. I need to get to " the other side".
I will convince my son to do at least one mission. I hope he can can get by the Kim Possible part of it. :rolleyes1

She really doesn't have much of a part at all. We are down to just needing to do the China and Mexico missions.

I am down to 6 more days. This time next week we will be at the airport.:dance3: Now to see if my tickers work. If not then I will redo them, I can't stand it!! It looks like they are back! YAY :cool1:

Hurray for just five more days!!! Doesn't it seem like forever since we were there in July?

Oh, I forgot to mention, the picture of Chelsea in the car....get used to it! It will be here soon. :sad2: Kids grow up too stinkin' fast!

Don't I know it! She and I have had a couple of minor skirmishes this year already -- wanting to go to the high school football game (we told her next year when she is actually in high school she can go to the games), wanting to get her hair highlighted (nope), wanting to be dropped off at the movies (another, "You are too young").

PHEW! I am FINALLY all caught up!

Hurray!

Oh, I dunno. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I went to the mall when I was younger, I lost money. All of it. My parents used to joke that people would wait at the doors for me and then follow me around, waiting for that $10 or $20 to happily jump ship. LOL

I was always losing things when I was younger, too. I remember losing an amethyst ring on a class trip to Washington, DC in the 9th grade and being absolutely devastated!

One day, some day, we can say you watched it with Heidi and fam, Kat and fam, and Tink and her BF, all with margaritas of their choice in hand. :goodvibes How much fun would that be?

More fun than we could actually fathom!!! :lmao:

Also, I swear I hit the 'quote' button for your Le Cellier chapter, but somehow it's missing. I loved both of my meals there. I've had dinner and lunch. I'm not sure if I agree that it's worth 2 TS credits for dinner starting in 2011, but I will DEFINITELY return there again.

Heck, I'd go there just for the soup.

I could see us going back if we aren't on the dining plan.

My friend bought a sample of one of the plum wines when we were there in 08. She had the wine, I ate the plum. Oh. MY. So very good.

Oh, that sounds so good! I could see myself trying a sake-soaked plum!

Great update CP. I am going to have to check out the Japanese dept. store. We haven't made it that far around the last two trips. Can't wait!!

And Abby just saw the cheerleader emoticon so here is one for her.
:cheer2:

Ah, thanks, Abby! :goodvibes Oh, you must go to the Japanese gift shop -- it's the best one in World Showcase!

Oh my gosh, that Connor! :rotfl2: I can totally see him doing that!!

Connor is always surprising us with his latest foray into "acting." :lmao:

We picked up a jersey for Baylor very similar to Charles' Italia shirt here at home! Since his conversion to soccer he has become very fond of wearing them...

I can't tell you how excited I am that Baylor has discovered the joys of soccer! It's such a fun sport to play and watch! :thumbsup2

This is such a pleasing change in Charles! I'm thinking he's a new man!!!
So glad he enjoyed Illumanations and you were able to avoid a full fledged hissy fit!

He does seem to have done a 180, doesn't he? We'll see if it sticks!

At 3 Carter is a little young for a Kim Possible mission, but I think his dad would love it. Carter is such a daddy's boy that I think they could do it together while Cindy and I do some shopping

Sounds like a great plan! I know Charles and Chelsea enjoyed doing some shopping together.

I've never seen the kiwi gummy candy, but I love kiwi, I'm going to have to find some of that stuff and maybe try the grape too!

Terri

They are very tasty!

 Connor cracks me up with his CM interaction and his tape measure!!! He is one creative kid!! :cool2:

He keeps us laughing!

The store in Japan.....ahhhh I could spend hours in here. Love those gummies and those would be my two top choices too!!:thumbsup2 I also like watching the pick a pearl and the CM's there are the most pleasant you will find anywhere :goodvibes

My family seems to be able to spend hours in there.

:yay: for Charles asking to stay for Illuminations :) I think Epcot is the mother of all meltdown parks

Tracy

It certainly always seems to trigger my meltdowns! Charles' is the Magic Kingdom, DHS is Connor's, and Chelsea just meltdowns wherever -- this trip it was Downtown Disney. LOL!

My girls enjoy the KP missions too. I have to limit them to 2 each time or I'd go nuts. I think they're cute but it's a lot of wandering back and forth around the country. Although I've seen things I've never noticed before.

I felt we were lucky to have to do only one on this trip. I do like my pictures from Germany. We have never spent much time there, so it was nice to wander around a bit there.

They like the phone too. We have done Mexico, Norway, Germany and China now.

We have now done Norway, England, Japan, and Germany. We just need to do Mexico and China, and then we will have done them all.

Connor - What a HOOT!!! The tape measure had me thinking flasher!

The first time he did it that's what I thought, too! LOL!

I am not a soccer fan and I think those shirts are cool.

We were so pleased with them!

I think Charles having a good time (and staying at the park!) must have thrown you off!! That and the lack of the GG slushie! But I'm glad you all got to see and enjoy Illuminations.

I really should have stopped in France on our way to Germany!

Great update! Enjoyed hearing of Conner's mission!

Thanks! We enjoyed saving the world!

Sounds like a fun KP mission.....the kids love them, but I'm not a fan...at least not in August when it's sweltering outside!:lmao:

 for Illuminations....I love that show....it's one of my fav's!!!

Doing the mission in the evening helped immensely! I totally recommend doing it then because the heat isn't as horrible!

I love Illuminations, too! I had to buy the CD on this trip!

Oh my gosh, I love Connor's wit! Living with him must keep you highly entertained

Oh, yes! Definitely! :lmao:

I'm thinking if you had only stopped in France to grab a slushie on the way to the KP mission, then all would have been right with the world....

In retrospect, I completely agree! I would have been much happier! ;)

And, go Charles suggesting you stay for Illuminations! Jackie, I must know your secret, how did this transformation come about????

I am not sure -- repeated exposure maybe? He might have finally decided that acting like a grump all the time wasn't going to get him out of going so he might just as well enjoy himself. LOL!

 I like your thinking! More trips might make Charles see just how wonderful Disney really is. ;)

Such a GREAT update! I was giggling all the way through, from "I can't remember!!!" to "mind-altering pretzels" to the "flighty side-kick." :lmao:

Ah, thanks! I had a really good time writing this update! It was a great way for me to escape the day I had on Friday at work.

And yay for Charles!!!! Total Freaky Friday thing, but glad you decided to stay for the drums and fireworks...and that everyone stayed awake and enjoyed them. :goodvibes

It was really such a nice evening just sitting there enjoying the fireworks and show and eating rock candy.

I caught the comment about Connor and his bathrobe - hilarious!!!:rotfl:

Connor comes up with the funniest things!

All caught up!

Too funny about the role reversal with you and Charles. I think I am safe in betting that there will *never* be a scenario that I wouldn't want to stay for Illuminations and my DH would.:rotfl:

I used to say the same thing -- never say never! :lmao:

Love the Italia soccor shirt Charles picked up! Nice score on that!;)

He did good choosing his shirts! :thumbsup2

Wow. He's really imaginative! In about 20 years we should either introduce him to Tessa, or make one of them move to another continent. The other night at dinner she announced out of the blue "I feel a SONG coming on!". :lmao:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Oh my goodness! Tessa cracks me up! She and Connor would be interesting together -- he is always breaking into songs of his own creation! The two of them together would be like watching a Broadway musical!

Freaky Friday is the only explanation for you and Charles. I'm convinced.

I agree! If we had eaten at the Chinese restaurant and had fortune cookies, I would have been even more convinced that some sort of body-switching spell had been cast! :lmao:

I love Illuminations, too! I had to buy the CD on this trip!

I originaly bought the Illuminations CD for the Tapesty of Dreams part but I have fallen in love with the Illuminations score. When I work late it is my driving home music. It takes me most of the way home.

Now I need to look for the MSEP CD in 6 days!
