Where Pixie-Dusted Birthday Dreams Come True! A July Trip Report! PTR Link! Pg. 116

I have to agree with MeMom neither one of those are going to be on my to do list. :rotfl:

Soarin is going to be first on my list, along with hundreds of others I imagine....;)

I'm glad your DH found something he really liked. :thumbsup2

It reminds me of the last trip when I couldn't drag my DMom away from some exhibit (can't remember what it was now) The kids and I were so bored but she found it so facinating that she talked about it the whole trip and then looked it up on the internet when we got home.
I'll have to ask her what it was when she gets up....it's bothering me that I can't remember what it was.

Okay, just asked DMom and she can't remember either....guess it wasn't THAT memorable after all.....LOL!!!!

Oh no, I hope Chelsea found her camera....

An aura of foreboding?

On a serious note, OUCH! A lost camera so early in the trip. :headache:

I hope it turned up.

It was not what we wanted to have happen on a trip, that's for sure!

A frozen cappuccino sounds soooooo good right now!

We became so addicted to them on this trip!

Oh no.....I am hoping Ms. Chelsea found her camera!

I'll try not to leave everyone in suspense for too long.

I can't stand it when you have those types of people who talk very loud behind you. It's hard for me not to say something...lol

Chelsea and I just kept looking at each other like, "Are these people for real???"

What a beautiful morning! I'm sure it must of been hot, though! Wow, no run for Soarin'!:scared1: I completely understand why you went to Innovations first, though! It must of felt nice to get out of the heat!

It was the first time we had been at an Epcot rope drop that we didn't make that run for Fast Passes.

Isn't Sum of All Thrills great!? The girls LOVED this.

It was so fun! We wanted to do it again, but a couple of hours later the wait time had already jumped to sixty minutes. There is nothing I will stand in line for for that long!

Do you know how many scenarios I have going through my mind about the lost camera?! You can not leave us hanging.:thumbsup2

I'll try not to leave you hanging for too long. :goodvibes

I love getting up early and taking resort pictures. :goodvibes Thanks for sharing.

I sure hope that the lost camera showed up!

I love those early morning pictures except the lense kept fogging up!

The fate of the camera will be revealed without too much of a wait!

Doesn't it feel odd when you deviate from your regular plan?? I know I would have to bite my tongue hard not to do the Soarin' fast pass run.

I was a little antsy about it!

It does sound like you made some great alternate plans. I think sum of all things is still a bit of a secret first thing in the morning because when I went, I was all by myself. I had a CM all to myself.

I am so glad we did it first thing because we wouldn't have waited on it later in the day! It was so neat!

I am looking forward to hearing how great Disney Lost and Found is. ;)

Fun update. good fpr ypu for "letting go"

It was hard to do that for a few minutes.

Good for you for going with the flow...I think all the innovations stuff will be fun to explore someday, when we have bigger kids!

Great update, two EPCOT days in a row sounds pretty good to me!

We always have lots of fun in Innoventions. The kids love all the hands-on stuff.

Two days at Epcot worked out well.

I started to worry about the lost camera. Then I remembered we have pictures Chelsea took in the car on the first day, so you found the camera or have two memory cards. I am hoping you found the camera, but until your next update I will be :surfweb:.

:rolleyes1;)

I think it is great that you started the EPCOT morning with two new experiences. The Stormstruck and the Sum of all Thrills sound like fun.

I was so glad we did them -- they were both lots of fun and something new and different for us.

Great updates. I hope Chelsea's camera is found (although I have a feeling that it was).

Thanks! I will try to reveal the fate of the camera later this week. It makes for an interesting story, that's for sure!

Lurker, but darn, I want to know what happened to that camera!!! :rotfl:

Welcome! Thanks for posting! The camera story and the aftermath is quite interesting, I promise.

They were killing me with their solicitous arm-stroking. :lmao:

:scared1: I lost a camera at Silver Springs when I was a child...we ultimately found the camera, but not the film (old 110 film, does anybody remember that??) I've never gotten over it. :sad2:  I have a feeling Chelsea's camera resurfaced, but I'm sure not before some panic ensued.

I remember losing things when I was a kid and being absolutely crushed by it! Connor lost a little camera on our Disney trip in 2004, so I was beginning to feel like we were cursed.

There was a lot of panic (and tears).

Your epcot day sounds like it was off to a great start.

Innoventions sounds really neat and the sum of all thrills sounds like an interesting attraction.

Looking forward to more:goodvibes

Thanks! Our Epcot day was off to a great start until the camera disappeared. Then, it all went downhill. The Sum of All Thrills is soooo much fun!

I love Disney World palm tree pictures.

Thanks! I :lovestruc palm trees!

Sum of All Thrills and Mission:Space. :scared1:
I would have just died on the spot...in two parts.
Half dead on the roller coaster and finished out on Mission:Space.
Between slow death and knowing that Soarin' wait was growing by leaps and bounds, it would have not been a good start to my day.

I'm glad it worked out for you guys, though. ;)

As you know, I refuse to do Mission: Space, but The Sum of All Thrills wasn't too bad. Your legs are free, and there is a panic button. Of course, my son told me I wasn't allowed to touch it. LOL!

I will have faith that you did get to soar later in the day. :goodvibes

Well, I do love Soarin' almost as much as you do! :thumbsup2

I look forward to seeing what missions Connor was able to do. We're still 'mission failed' on getting around to doing one of those, even as many times as we have said we are going to! :upsidedow

We just did one on this trip, but Connor was okay with that. The one we did do was very neat. I think Disney has just been so clever with this game.

I'm glad the day and 1/2 worked out at Epcot. I was worried while you were gone you could back hating me and the help I gave you on your plans. :rotfl2:

N-E-V-E-R!!! Your plans were great, and we really ended up sticking to them pretty closely for the most part -- especially the Animal Kingdom and DHS ones! :thumbsup2

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow at Disney. If your family is having fun then it's worth it to tweak the plans. :goodvibes

I thought so, too. It's not like it was our first and only time there -- we had done all the attractions before, so the chance to do new ones was appealing to all of us.

I have to agree with MeMom neither one of those are going to be on my to do list. :rotfl:

Oh, but The Sum of All Thrills is so cool! I think everyone should try it at least once.

Soarin is going to be first on my list, along with hundreds of others I imagine....;)

Can't beat the smell of oranges first thing in the morning!

I'm glad your DH found something he really liked. :thumbsup2

I was surprised! I swear, he talked about Sum of All Thrills the rest of the vacation! LOL!

That's too funny! Now I really want to know what exhibit it was! :rotfl:

Oh no, I hope Chelsea found her camera....

It makes for a very interesting time...

Charles is really embracing his Disney love (other than hanging up on Mickey)! I think that's great!! Glad you were able to talk yourself out of the anxiety and toss the plan aside. Sounds like you had a fun morning. :)

Isn't it great that you know you'll be back and don't have to wait in 60+ min lines? I love that Charles added to the plan and I understand exactly how you felt worrying about "the plan". Glad you could let it go and have a good time.

I can copy your plan because I think that's the order we did Innovations! hehe. I enjoyed Stormstruck and Sum of All Thrills was a hit with my family!

Glad that the camera is safe, but sorry that there were tears in Disney! Looking forward to the story.

Let me tell you, walking into the park BAG FREE is a beautiful thing. It's amazing really. :cloud9: I hope to do it again...someday!

I love that The Plan got chucked out the window! Sometimes those are the BEST times, and it sounds like everyone is having a fantastic time. And Charles getting excited over Disney...that is awesome! I want to try both of those exhibits in Innoventions - sounds like you made a great move with doing Sum of All Thrills early, a 60 minute wait in Innoventions is unheard of!!

I do hope you get to soar....

Great update Jackie!

First, nothing I love better than those early morning shots around the resort, there is something about the feel first thing in the morning that I love:lovestruc

Second, I'm with you on the whole super cell, tornadic, dread:scared1: We had an F5 tornado touch down about 25 minutes from where we live 3 years ago...scared the beegeebees out of us....the sky was that gross green color and I just knew that it was gonna be a bad evening:rolleyes1 Jim Cantore:love:we have grown quite found of him on our summer trips...he does great updates on the hurricances or TS's when we're there:rolleyes1

Third, praying that camera is found:eek:I had the stomach meets the throat feeling when I read that:confused3

I'm surprised on your early morning Caribbean walk there was no drunken Jack Sparrow meandering around... ;)

Charles? A park nazi? I can't believe it. :lmao:

Now we know the real reason why you stopped at the storm area. Two words.

Jim. Cantore.

It's okay, we all know you're obsessed. ;)

Sounds like you're having a fun day despite the political ramblings you had to endure while waiting in line. :lmao:

Haunted Mansion playing cards? I. MUST. FIND. NEXT. TRIP!

Beautiful early morning shots around the resort!

We drove to Epcot again but parked in the front parking lots. No guilt for Connor this morning!

Phew! :lmao:

It might not have been so bad if the people behind us weren’t the type of people who seem to think everyone wants to hear their conversations.

I'm exactly the opposite. I'm so concerned that other people will hear my conversation, that I talk too SOFTLY and my own family can't hear me! :rotfl2:

And then, my mind answered back, “We’re at Disney! We’ve never done this before! Charles is actually wanting to do something. Who cares about the plan?”

You get the wife/mom of the year award!!! :worship:

Great update!!!!! I'll definitely be adding the innoventions rides to my list!! That frozen cappuccino sounds sooooo good right now! I'll definitely be buying the haunted mansion playing cards next trip! I hate people who think that they can say whatever they want while standing right behind you....at least talk softer......I'm hoping Chelsea found her camera! I'm thinking she did, but I hate that panic feeling when you realize somethings missing!

I usually skip Innoventions, but after reading your latest update, I'm definitely going to have to add a stop there to our itinerary in October! I think DF would really enjoy Sum of All Thrills.

another great update! I agree totally...

I would have been in plan panic mode as well ;) Glad you went w/ the flow and got a few really cool things done....I have not been in Innoventions since maybe the early 90's :confused3 it always seems to be on our "if time" list...hope we may be able to remedy that w/ this trip...

and OH NO! on the camera...

both of the twins got free refurbed old digital cameras from their Uncle and Aunt for their b-days and for summer camps...Nathan has not used his much, but Bekah has...I was quite proud she didn't lose it or break it while she was gone for 2 weeks...but I am nervous about giving her the added repsonsiblity of having it at Disney in Nov....

we'll see how your story ends and if I am more nervous

Haunted Mansion playing cards? I. MUST. FIND. NEXT. TRIP!

I so agree :thumbsup2 if I find them...I'll pick you up a deck!!!

Hey Jackie! Sorry I'm here late...just got back from my own trip! :goodvibes Loving your TR so far........I sure hope Chelsea finds her camera!

Oh no!! :scared1: I hope Chelsea's camera turned up!!

I'm definitely adding a stop at Innoventions to our to-do list for the next family trip! ::yes::

Aww, poor Chelsea. I know the feeling of a lost camera in Disney. It stinks.

Storm Struck is cool. I wish I could do simulators because I would try the Sum of Fears.

Really pretty pictures of the CBR.

Charles certainly had his own plan. He really loves Disney, doesn't he? Sounds like a great start to an Epcot day. I'm definitely putting Storm Struck and Sum of all Thrills on my must-try list.

Did you check 2011 package prices today? I'm wondering if there will be a new ticker and ptr in the near future ;)

I'm really excited that you guys just sat back and went with the flow that morning! That honestly turned out to be part of what made our last trip the best one yet...just relaxing and doing what came to us at that given time :thumbsup2 Never done it before and it just works out beautifully!

Next time I will have to try the Sum of All Thrills! We were in the Innoventions building and saw it but never got in line because, like you said, the wait time was pretty long around noon time!

I'm glad to hear that you were able to loosen up on the plan without having a complete breakdown. ;)

Hope Chelsea's camera turns up. I'm the queen of losing things on my trips to Disney. In 08 it was my favorite Lulu Guiness sunglasses. Luckily I realized it nearly immediately after I dropped them, and they were still in the bathroom. In December it was my new Betsy Johnson sunglasses. Sadly they never turned up.
