Where is your polling place?

Ours is at the elementary school around the corner from our house. In the last place we lived, it was at the Elks Lodge that was practically in the next town. I thought that was strange since other people in town (difference districts) voted at the high school that was less than a mile from my house.

We were discussing voting in churches at lunch today. We were all questioning the separation of church and state.

I vote in a church. I used to vote in a school - we also have them in community centers.

I vote at a church. In fact, my polling places have ALWAYS been churches, although other places used here for voting are public schools, community centers and the like. Never heard of an outdoor polling spot. That's a new one!

There's a polling place at the school across the street from me, but it's not mine. Mine is at another school about 3 blocks away.

I vote at a local elementary school.

Weird, it told me mine exactly and gave me a map.

However.. where I vote is across the street so technically I got a map of my house, too. It did correctly state the name of the school we vote at, though!

Currently, my polling place is a local elementary school, as it was at the place I ever voted. At our old house the polling place was at the boro building. All have been within walking distance for me.

It use to be the elem. school across the street. They have now removed all voting from the school here for safety reasons. I now vote in a church, actually the church has 6 districts in it. It is a BIG church!

My couch and the mailbox. I vote absentee ballot and have for the last 12 years, I was pregnant and due a few days before election day in '96 and I just never changed my status. Polling place is the church down the hill from us though.

i vote in my bedroom with the door closed. then i drive to the library and put it in a mail box.. i need to find my ballot... our state is mail in.. or county i guessv

At the local VFW. I had to drive past a separate polling center (the Salvation Army) to get to mine.

Now I vote via mailbox. Absentee ballot.

We vote at the warming house for the ice rink at the neighborhood park. We have walls though. The firehalls and some schools are other places around town here.

OP, maybe they bring in trailers for voting?

As for separation of church and state-give me a break, no one is forcing you to practice any religion while you are voting-it is just a convenient place to vote that has space to park .
