Yahoo we just upgraded to a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom on the Magic, category 9C. :woohoo:

First-time Disney cruiser question: Where is the upper-berth pull-down bed? Is it on the parents' side of the privacy curtain or on the other side? I'm hoping it's on the other side--I don't want to go to sleep at 9:00!

Bonus question: How do you feel about category 9C on the Magic? It was $440 to upgrade from deluxe inside stateroom to this. Looks like we'll have a port hole but only be on deck 2 so maybe not as good of a view... Worth it?

Thanks again! You all are sooo helpful!

The past two cruises we have taken we were in a Cat9 on deck two and LOVED it! I actually preferred it being 'closer' to the sea and found that we got a much better view. On the Med cruise in August last year a couple of dolphins were swimming right next to our window and it was so good to see them so close up in the wild! I would go for a Cat9 on deck two any day :goodvibes

And yes, the bed in on the other side of the curtain. I'm happy to answer any more questions about this room if you like!

Yes, there is a safety rail on the upper berths.

I was on Deck 2 in an oceanview on the Wonder, and it was a GREAT location! Your view is still fantastic, and I really enjoyed how centrally located Deck 2 is; just a quick trip up the stairs to get to dining or to disembark at ports. It was also very quiet.

Have a great trip ;)

The room we had on the wonder had a fold out couch, and the upper berth bed.. It Folds down from the roof or what ever, turning your couch area into a bunk bed..

So on the Dream, a Family Deluxe Oceanview Verandah room would have the regular bed that sleeps two, a couch that sleeps 1, and an upper bunk that is above the couch that sleeps 1. Is there another pull-down bed for the 5th member, or does the couch sleep 2?

Im not sure, in our room we have now booked on the Fantasy next year, it mentions the couch, the upper berth and a wall bed, plus the queen size bed.. So there may be another bed..

There is also a murphy bed in addition to the sofa and upper berth.
