I have my husband and two sons in the MDE app and do all of the planning when we go to Disney. They just log in using my info if they want to make plans. My 21 year old son is going to Disney with his friends and we have no clue how to link him with his friends. Does he need to make a completely new account with all of his information? Can he be linked to his friends from my account? I have no clue how to go about doing this? I tried to search for the answer but haven't had any luck. Thanks in advance for the help.

I would say that it would be best if he establish his own account and then link with his friends' accounts in the "Friends and Family" section. He'll send them an "invitation" through the Friends and Family prompts and they'll respond and be linked to him. I wouldn't have his friends link to your account...too much chance for something wonky to happen now or in the future. Plus, he's of the age that he can be responsible for himself and manage his own account. I hope he has a great time!!

THIS⬆️ He should have his own account. Even though I’m the planner in our family, I made everyone get their own MDE account. Very easy for him to make his own, invite his friends, etc. I would NOT want my boys’ friends in my friends and family list 😁

I agree, have him make his own M.D.E. account.
I have no clue how to go about doing this?
After he creates his account, go to his profile in your F&F list. Tap on his name, then under Connect with This Guest you can Scan Linking Code on his phone, which is easy to do if he’s there with you, or Send Email to the email address he used for his new account. That will automatically transfer any tickets, MBs, etc. to his profile, but you’ll still be able to see them as well as to link new ones to him in the future.

Then he can create profiles for his friends in his F&F list, assuming none of them have their own M.D.E. accounts and none are managed by someone else’s M.D.E. If they do have profiles in another M.D.E. account, he should probably connect to them through those accounts rather than duplicating them.

^^ I agree, the Disney phone people are very helpful in resolving MDE issues. When we last were planning a Disney trip with 2 other families, we had trouble getting each account to work/display information correctly. Rather than waste a lot of time figuring it out, we called Disney and the phone person could see whatever was wrong and fixed it for us.

We found that everyone in the same room can easily be on a single MDE account. If your son is planning a future trip without you would probably be the right time to have his own MDE account. We found that everyone in the same room does NOT need their own MDE account. Someone who isn't good using that system can mess things up like cancelling ADR's in errors, which is one example of why everyone in the same room doesn't need a separate account.
