What is the northern most east coast beach that would be warm enough to enjoy for the first week in April?

A northeast beach that you can enjoy in April; that's a tough one. I think you're probably going to have to go south, like South Carolina. You might be able to get away with the outerbanks in North Carolina, but I really think you would be safer with South Carolina and points further south if you want to enjoy being at the beach.

I just know here in NJ we've gotten snow in April, so I think a northern beach would be tough that time of year.

I would think that the northernmost beach that would be OK in April would be Myrtle Beach, SC. They are a big spring break beach. Average April air temperature is 75 degrees. The ocean would be on the cold side at an average of 62 degrees but I'm sure you could find accomodations with a heated pool. Anything further north would be too risky in April, IMO.

We were at a beach in South Georgia (near Amelia Island Florida) at the END of April last year and it was quite chilly! Weather can be so unpredictable that time of year. I'd try further south, maybe St. Augustine or thereabouts if you want to be sure of warm weather.
