Unless I'm remembering this wrong, I remember seeing pictures once that the officers basically get cabins near to our cat 6-7's in size/layout and they are in a secured area of the ship.
The aft cabins with the giant verandahs you can see from Palo and the Deck 9 buffet are the handicapped cabins, which have a balcony big enough to roll a wheelchair out onto.
If I recall correctly from our bridge tour...the captian's cabin is below the bridge. And yes it is a secured area. He has his own dining room as well.
