where is the best steak

For me if you are going OOP then it would have to be Shula's. However, if you are going on the DDP it would be as follows.

Signature: Yachtsman

1Ts: Captains Grille. Call me crazy, but this place offers a very good steak and it's only 1ts on the dining plan. In my opinion, a well kept secret.

Overrated:LeCellier. If you want to by into the hype, go to LeCellier. If you do though I would recommend going for lunch as a 1ts. No way in the world (pun intended) would I waste 2ts on this place for dinner.

Wow... my thoughts exactly!!! Shula's is the best steak on property... followed by the signature Yachtsman, if you have one credit--Captain's Grille is really really really good.... and I just don't get it about Le Cellier after 2 yucky experiences.

The best steak I have had on property was at Fulton's a couple weeks ago...I got the Filet Oscar and it was fabulous! Actually, our entire meal, including the service, was phenomenal. I had read mixed reviews but am so glad we went! In fact, DH and I are going back for our post Marathon dinner in a few weeks!

Maybe, my judgement is clouded . . . I had a bad experience at Ruth's Chris. :sad2:

DH and I had a nice romantic dinner planned for our Anniversary. (Somehow, steak houses and our Anniversary seem to go hand-in-hand ;) ) It was a special occasion. So, I ordered the steak (filet) & lobster. Now, I grew up in New England and know how broiled lobster should taste. It came out with the meat still translucent and mushy not dense and cooked. Have you ever had raw lobster? :scared1: Yuck! The server tried to convince me that it was thoroughly cooked. It was NOT! They brought it back to the kitchen and tried to re-cook the same lobster which of course came back overcooked. :headache: They ruined my poor lobster! Now, the steak was good, don't get me wrong. But, not soooo good that I want to go back for it. JMHO We live in Texas and have many other better steak houses around. ;)

Speaking of steak, DH and I are going to his Manager Christmas Dinner tonight and it's at a steak house!!! :woohoo: (Bob's Steak and Chop House) I am drooling in anticipation! :goodvibes

Actually your steak and lobster meal sounds identical to my attempt at s & L at Shula's. My lobster was still raw too! Thusly, I haven't ordered lobster at Shula's again.

But I am a HUGE Ruths' steak fan. Love the hot, buttery service and have never had anything less than GREAT steak in probanly 20 visits. All of our tastes are different but IMO Ruth's is the tops of the chains.

I have to say the most underrated wonderful place for us was The Wave! Yummy steak, wonderful service, easy to get ADR's. :)

If you have a Bob's Steak and Chop House in your area, try it. If you like Ruth's Chris, you will love it!!!! :thumbsup2

:worship: Dinner last night was delicious!
