It starts back in Africa (farthest point from the DAK entrance) and completely circles the "Tree of Life/Discovery Island" walkways.

That means that you can see it anywhere around that huge area.

Its the "lowest-tech" parade of any given at WDW (many floats are designed to look "jungle-built" like Tarzan or Swiss Family built them from "tree-parts), but its a very GOOD parade!
It has interactive elements (namely, over-sized puppets) similar to the late, great "Tapestry of Nations" parade last seen at Epcot a few years ago.
The characters (the ones who WALK in the parade) are very interactive with the guests as well.

If the parade starts in Africa at 4:00pm,
it will reach the "front bridge" of DAK (the one that joins from the Oasis) about 4:15pm.
It will reach Asia area about 4:25pm.
Back around the circle to Africa by 4:45pm or so.
It lasts about 10-15 minutes.

Choose your viewing spot about 40-60 minutes before these times (according to where you ARE) and you'll see it very nicely.

We always watch it from the front of the Dawa Bar (in Harambe, of course!). Order a drink, and sit at one of the tables!

Thats my fav. place to watch the parade too. If its hot the kids play in the water buckets while we wait, then the parade starts and its just perfect.

Me, too! It's not the best "view" of the parade (people will crowd in front of you), but it's certainly the most comfortable and enjoyable.

My favorite place is close to the Kilimanjaro entrance. I get to see it coming and going!!!

We stood on the bridge leading into Africa. It was nice because they only let people stand on one side of the bridge and there's only enough room for one row of people, so there is no one pushing you from behind or blocking your view.

Our new favorite spot is in front of Flights of Wonder. It is towards the end of the parade so you can walk up shortly before the parade gets to you and find a great spot. The other plus is that this area has a lot of shade. After being caught on the opposite side of Tusker House and staring into the sun on a July afternoon I vowed to find a better spot. Another option is the patio to the left of Flame Tree BBQ. It is up a bit and when the parade comes through you can easily see over everyone on the sidewalk. It's also shaded.
