Where is the best place to eat at Hollywood Studios?

The only place I've eaten in DHS was the Sci-Fi Drive-in restaurant and it was pathetic.

To be honest, I've eaten at a lot of Disney restaurants and the best I can generally find is mediocre, and then the go downhill from there.

That's not to say I've eaten at every place there. Maybe someone truly has found a diamond in the rough. Overall, though, I go out with low expectations and I haven't found a place yet to surpass them.

We ate at Mama Melrose 3 or 4 years ago and enjoyed it but not enough to motivate ourselves to eat TS at DHS again.

As for lunch our latest attempt at a decent lunch was the Backlot Express and it was pretty decent.

I have been to Sci Fi twice and LOVE IT!! We get the burgers and onion rings are they are always super tasty!! I went to 50's once and the food was meh....I really like Sci Fi...going back in May!!

I love the Brown Derby for a "fancy" meal. The Cobb salad is fantastic.

We also always eat once at Sci-Fi during our trips. I always get a cheeseburger and onion rings and love them. My wife gets Beef-n-Blue salad and she loved it too.

For CS, you can't beat Starring Rolls. The turkey sandwich is absolutely huge and they have fantastic muffins/cupcakes. We usually split a sandwich and take a muffin back to the resort for breakfast the next day.

We love Sci Fi. I like the bowtie shrimp pasta. The milkshkes are so so good. We also like the atmosphere.

We've eaten at all the sit-down restaurants in Hollywood Studios with the exception of Hollywood & Vine. The Brown Derby is wonderful for an in-park restaurant. The others range from merely passable to downright bad. Luckily, there are many good dining options just outside the park at the Epcot area resorts.

Last year we at at Sci-Fi and Backlot Express and enjoyed both of them.

We love Pizza Planet for lunch.. You get alot of food for 1CS credit! For TS we really liked Sci-Fi Dine-In. We're trying 50's Primetime next trip and we're really excited!

I've eaten at Mama Melroses, Brown Derby, 50's PT, Sci-Fi, and Starring Rolls.. but what I loved the most was the carrot cake cookie from Beverly Sunset (similar to Writer's Stop.) :thumbsup2

For CS we like Starring Rolls, but the menu is very limited. Mainly sandwiches, but the cupcakes and other desserts make it worth it. Backlot Express isn't bad either.

For TS we like 50's Prime Time. It feels like a homecooked dinner that Mom or Grandma would've made.

50s PTC is our fave. Mama Melroses is our 2nd. Did Sci Fi once, we were tired so didnt really have a great feel for it. Never been to H&V or BD, so no opinion, though DFs like BD. 50s is sfe for us, lots of comfort food but always good, and fun.

I know I alot of people don't like it, but we like Pizza Planet for lunch. :goodvibes

And for dinner on our last trip, we ate at Hollywood and Vine for the F! package. My entire family loved the buffet!! Everything we picked was really good.:thumbsup2

Have a great trip!

I agree wholeheartedly on both of these.

We enjoy Mama Melrose for dinner and Starring Rolls for lunch. 50's Prime Time is also good although I liked it more than DH did

Just went to Mama Melrose..pork osso bucco was amazing!!! The rest of my family had a decent meal. Love 50's prime time for the experience. Both good choices. Not a big fan of Hollywood and Vine.

I enjoyed 50s Prime Time and Hollywood Brown Derby. I liked my over all meal at Prime Time and the portions were large. The Cobb salad at Hollywood Brown Derby has to be my favorite salad on Disney property.

We had lunch last week at MM. DH & I shared a casear salad , 2 flatbreads and the chocolate cannoli cake :thumbsup2. We also ate the same lunch(minus the cake:sad2: last year)
We will most certainly go back the next time::yay:

I disagree that DHS doesn't have good food. We love the Brown Derby, especially the Cobb Salad, which reminds me of the original. I've also had great lamb and Salmon there.

The ABC Commissary is good and so is the Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater.
