Brenda and I are sitting at our dining room table waiting for a town car from a local limo service to pick us up at 6PM for our trip to the Clarion LaGuardia Hotel. At about 5:55 I go to the front door to get a better look down the street and see a town car pass by our house. I go out onto the front lawn and watch the town car pull into a driveway two houses up and across the street. The driver gets out and talks to the people who live in that house. Meanwhile I am standing on my lawn trying to get the drivers attention. He finally looks down the street and sees me waving at him. The driver, Jim, drives on over to our house and apologizes for going to the wrong house, it seems his boss gave him the wrong street number.
Jim loads our luggage in the car and Brenda and I get in the back seat and we are off at about 6:10. The ride down I95 to New York is surprisingly easy and we are in our hotel room before 8:30. Shortly after we get into our room while I am trying to get the luggage cart out of our room and back down to the lobby, somehow both Brenda and I wind up in the hall with the cart and the door slams shut and locks us out. So I bring the cart down to the lobby and get another room key from the front desk.
After I get us back into the room we settle in pretty quickly [we only need to open our carry on bag] and head down to the small bar in the lobby. I order a glass of white zinfedel for Brenda and I get a Sam Adams [love the irony of having a Boston beer in New York]. We decide to call it an early night since we have to up at 3AM and get the shuttle over to the terminal at 4AM so off to bed we go.
Next Chapter: Me to pilot "What do you mean we're out of gas!!!!!!!!"
