We're new members heading down tomorrow  for a week-long stay at POR as part of the free dining plan, and wanted to exchange our 7-day hoppers for annual passes (planning on our first-ever stay on points in May '06) at the discounted DVC member price. Where would I go to do this? Thanks in advance!!

Guest Services windows are located outside of every park entrance. There are also two locations at Downtown Disney. It is the regular WDW Guest Services that handle on-site ticket issues, DVC Member Services only handle things over the phone.

Thanks for responding! So I can go to any Guest Services window and do a ticket upgrade? Do you know if they will have access to DVC records to verify I'm a member? We only closed in the last three weeks, and haven't received our membership cards yet (although I have verified that DVC has added us to the member rolls), so I have nothing to prove I qualify for the DVC discount. Thanks again.

when you check in and definitely do this before you try to get your annual pass.

explain that you need a temporary DVC member card. they use to give them out to new members, I think they still do.

that should be good enough for guest services.

no only DVC can access their system.

I'm not sure where you'd pick-up your temporary membership card, I'm thinking probably at the sales office at SSR, since that is where they issue them when you buy direct from Disney.

I called for a new member card when mine fell apart earlier this year. They said if I needed at temporary one for my May trip to visit the sales office at SSR. I really didn't need it since I have a DDE card so I didn't bother. I got the new one in the mail afterwards (after 2 months).

Also, if you have to pick up the temporary card at SSR head over to DTD Guest Services (next to Team Mickey I think)

I find they seem to be the most knowledgable about things like the DVC discounts etc...

I can confirm that a temporary card needs to be picked up at SSR. You can park near the sales centre. And yes, I agree that the next step is a stop at DTD Guest Relations!

It takes about 10-15 minutes for them to get your temporary card, and in the meantime you can make use of the welcome centre.

Just FYI, as far as I know, the Member Services CM's are still all located over at Celebration. The DVD sales staff is all located at SSR, and of course Guest Services, as already explained by others, is located at various places around WDW.

Actually, sometimes you will get MS reps that aren't even in the Orlando area. I was surprised in talking with a rep in making our Christmas reservations that she was located in Kansas!!! I think they had brought on extra staff for heavy booking periods. As I recall, she said they had something like a couple hundred people answering MS calls that morning.

To the best of my knowledge DVC Member Services is located in Celebration. The CM who took a reservation in Kansas might be CRO or WDW Travel?

No, this was very clearly a CM taking calls at MS. I have only called CRO or Disney travel once in my life and that was back in 1999. It is possible that DVC farms out the phone calls on busy days or that they use a private call center for support on busy days, but this was an MS call that was taken by someone who was not located in Florida on that day.
