Where is Josh D'Amaro?

in corporate America describing senior leadership i n anything but the most glowing terms by line and middle management employees is a one way ticket to the unemployment office.

These particular comments were anonymous, like on Reddit, so it seems to be DL CMs’ perception and not forced. But, as others have said just because you say or act like you care about the Disney brand or CMs and what actually gets implemented are two different things. Only time will tell.

Anonymous is not anonymous at many companies, conversations are recorded on audio and video in public spaces, ‘Reputation Management’ firms monitor employees social media pists.

and many subscribe to location tracking services to ensure employees are at their work locations

Does anyone from the Disney family actually work for the Disney company anymore? as in descendents of Walt or Roy? I feel like Walt would be spinning in his grave if he could see what a dumpster fire the most recent CEO's have started with all the poor park related decisions they make. I know it's a business but what happened to customer satisfaction being the highest priority?

Disney has decided that Wall Street is their customer and has pivoted accordingly, we the lowly guest are expected to pay however. And be grateful that Disney allows us to funnel money to wall st

Reddit works a little differently than social media, it’s more anonymous. Not that a company couldn’t track someone’s activity on there if they wanted to. It was just interesting what people were saying on there about Josh who claimed to work under him at DL and what people were saying who claimed to have worked under Chapek, which was more negative. Of course being “anonymous,” you don’t know who is telling the truth.

True communication is only possible among equals. If i had a VP of finance telling me another executive is good people. I’d believe. When a line employee tells me the same thing well... its hard to say has someone decided that being employed means toeing the company line, or they are a true believer.

Personally I look at the actions rather than the words and under Spokesmodel Josh. Well the WDW cuts have been more severe (excluding covid) than they were under Georgie K who started as a busboy with no college so he at least understood what being a low level CM’s challenges were.
Maybe this may true for the corporation(s) you worked for, but not for mine.

I just posted an article about the possible Epcot Hotel and in it says "in-park EPCOT boutique hotel may well fit in with Disney's post-COVID plans for lower attendance, offset with higher spending guests."

I think that’s always been their goal honestly pre pandemic. Try and dissuade regulars and APs and replace them with one time guests who’ll spend all the money.

of course, not the best strategy when you have a timeshare system that encourages regular visits, but we’ll see how it all shakes out

Honestly I think they want both, but the more they can bump people to being higher spenders, they will. The timeshares aren't exactly cheap anyway so they are already bigger spenders. The upsels are definitely a big part of the strategy to get more dollars from every guest. If it wasn't working though they wouldn't do it.

I think they are buffering Josh from the cluster that is going on right now. I agree that Chaoek is the interim CEO who is going to get a pretty hefty going away package for being the sacrificial lamb right now. Happens all the time in business.

The higher spending, less guests has been their goal way before COVID. They just like DVC because they get all of that upfront cash and can’t pass that up! And locking in people for decades.

That's the been the plan for a long time. I do wonder how many people have stretched out the timeframe in between visits now because of it.

The costs is out of control. We're an every 2 year family now. It was every year or multiple times per year, i can't justify the costs anymore.

I agree it's always been that way. I think even more now they are pushing to go in that direction even more now. Paid FP coming and a membership in place of AP is the next step.

If their goal is to appeal to big spenders, I'd say they're doing a pretty horrible job of it, though. If I've got a ton of money to put down on a vacation, I'm not going to be forking over thousands for a mediocre theme park experience that's a shell of what it could be. For the same price, a luxury cruise in Europe or an all-inclusive visit to some wonders of the world in Asia seem a lot more appealing.

I maintain that Josh and whomever else is in charge of parks experiences have dropped the ball in a major way. It doesn't really matter if he's nice to CM's (sorry, I know that sounds harsh). It matters if your guests are having a good time.

No they like the cool billion or so the DVC members pay to build the resort, Then the game begins about using your points remember there is a guarantee that you will be granted your points allocation there is no corresponding guarantee that you will be able to USE your points.

So we get the often seen situation where you are at the 11 month mark and you go to reserve your villa for a week or 10 days and you find that everything is available except for a single day in the middle of the week, Then you check to see if same room class is available for cash and 9 out of 10 times it is. At that point you want to throw something, do you waitlist, pay cash or say this is for the birds I'm selling our DVC. This mess started as far as I can tell in 2015 prior to that you may not have been able to get exactly what you wanted but you always got something that made you happy with the next trip to the happy place in FL.

That's resolved like this Disney Security to reddit, hey can you give us the IP address of post 123456 someone was making threats, Sure Disney the IP is 1.2.3.4 and is from RandomISP, Disney calls RandomISP can you give us the personal details of the user from 13-1400 UTC using 1.2.3.4 they were making threats, Now we are down to the person and we do a quick background check find out who they are working for, and finally Disney calls that person's HR department and they get sacked.

Privacy and anonymity on the net is well and truly dead.

i mean, they keep raising prices and people keep buying all the upgrades. over the past few years, they've been able to increase per guest spending. as long as they keep doing that, they dont seem to really care about how many people they run off.

I guess we can just say there were more people willing to bad mouth Chapek than D’Amaro in the thread that I read🤣.
