Where is HOME? OR have you found it yet???

BLT is my favorite home away from home.

we like to stay there as our first choice.. 2nd is Animal Kingdom Kidani.

our goal is try and stay at all the DVC resorts... Boardwalk is the next place to try for Spring break.

we have stayed at a few other DVC properties and really liked them!! The Grand Californian was awesome!!

We are very at home at AKL although im scared as soon as we stay at the Poly my DH wont want to stay anywhere else......

So far... it is Disney's Polynesian Resort Concierge Level Lagoon View. But who knows, we are going to Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa Congress Park DTD view 2bedroom villa and it might be our new home.

I like to try different resorts and be in different areas. When DS was younger we liked to be in the MK area and really loved the WL, but our last trip was in 2009 and we loved the Yacht Club and all that the EPCOT area had to offer. We have stayed at WL, Poly, YC, AKL and offsite at Vistana. I try not to spend too much time traveling for dinner so I like to stick to Park Restaurants, downtown Disney or the resort and area I am in. We don't have a car when on site and I hate switching at DD to get to another hotel. Staying at the different resorts has allowed me to try many restaurants. We just started planning for the end of June and are leaning towards the EPCOT resorts. My first choice would be the Boardwalk or Beach Club, but all the resorts are so expensive for this time period. I am now looking at Swan/Dolphin as an option. We ate at Il Murino at the Swan in 2009 and love it.

We are on a mission to stay at every resort so even if we find "the one", we may have to move on to try new things. :goodvibes

We have stayed at all of the values (except for AoA), CBR, and WL....we LOVED WL and could easily see that as being our Disney home. We just love everything about it.

But, we are staying at YC in April and we will see how we feel after that.

We leave sat. for 10 days at all star sports. We've been 2 other times, once at all star movies, and once in a timeshare off site.

For us and the way we "do disney", it seems like a big waste of $$ to spend $250-350/ night for a room, that we barely hang out in. We sleep, eat breakfast there, but are usually gone from rope drop till close. that's just us.

Now, if we spent more time at the resort? I think my heart would be all about bay lake towers. We went through the show one at the DVC club in the mall in Shaumburg. It was gorgeous.

Again, as we get older? There's a chance we will spend more on our room. I can see doing so, if we started going on a more regular basis. (like every other year) Now, we are fine and dandy w/the values.

Our *home* is AKL.
We adore the Poly but our budget doesn't.
Someday we will stay at the Beach Club - It is a resort I have always wanted to try - and after all our stays I have never even stepped foot on BC property!

For my solo trips, I love POR for a moderate resort (just take a peek at my signature. LOL).

If I feel like I have some money, I love WL for a deluxe on my solo trips.

That being said - I am currently booked at Pop for my next solo trip. I have to renew my AP so unless I really make some money selling stuff on ebay, I won't be able to afford to stay at POR. I'm going to miss it!

Our second favorite is AKL. We love the theming, the savannah and the amazing restaurants. GF is always our first choice, but now that DS is an adult, we need two rooms which is kind of pricey. So, this year we are staying at BLT. The style isn't exactly us, but we like the idea of the extra space. My goal is to stay at every WDW resort. The others I am most curious about are YC and POR.

We also like to keep trying new resorts. We're trying BC and WLV in June for the first time! Our favorite moderate is POFQ, but can't pick a favorite Deluxe.

Love having choices!

If I were going to buy DVC, I don't know which I'd choose. Sometimes I think OKW...then AKV...then BWI...

My "home" is Coronado Springs. I don't *think* I could go to Disney and not stay there!

But I also enjoy trying new resorts, and I would go back to any I've stayed at.
So my choice is to do a split stay--CSR + Poly/AKL with dh, Value + CSR for a solo trip to save a little $. ;)

We own DVC and our home resort is BLT, but we have been going to Disney for 30+ years and have stayed almost everywhere. My favorite is the BC because of location and the overall atmosphere. We love BLT and being on the monorail and the close proximity to the other hotels. Our favorite mod is POR. Stayed there many times before we bought DVC. Only ones we are not crazy about are the value resorts. It's a family tradition & we love it!!!!

AKL, no doubt. While I can -and do!- stay at other resorts, I love AKL. I love the wood, I love the fire pits, inside and out, I love the decor. I feel like I'm being hugged every time I walk through the doors. And of course, there's the animals. :goodvibes Nothing like seeing giraffes dancing in the moonlight; saw it once, never again, but that was enough. ::yes::

We had for about nine trips when we stayed at the Coronado. Don't get me wrong...we still love it and would stay there again in a heartbeat. But our new home is Old Key West. We love the layout, the peacefulness and the theme of the resort. And now that we have found we can rent points and stay cheaper than Coronado, it is our new home.

Love CBR, I know i am on vacation when i drop in a hammock on the beach with my kindle while the hubby feeds the ducks ( he packs breadcrumbs for them :rotfl2:).
I love the feel of CBR, though lots don't like it, I can't see why.

Being from Marthas Vineyard, the BC, Yacht, et al, dont do it for me. Its like vacationing at fake home.
Stayed at POFQ last Sept, liked the boat transportation and Boatwrights.
Stayed at S&D last Oct, beautiful place but did not have the "Disney Vacation" feel.
Went once to budget All Star Movies, I actually enjoyed that pool and food court but wouldn't stay again.
I would like to try Poly. Any hotel on Disney is probably fine, i am easy to please, i just love to be on vacation.:beach:

Fort wilderness. Been staying there since I was 3 and will be 29 on our next trip. It fits our family's budget since we usually travel with my whole family. Never stayed in a Disney Hotel, only camped at the fort. we looked into staying in a value resort but it still ended up being twice what we pay at the fort. My dream hotel is Wilderness Lodge, but that doesn't seem to be in our budget anytime in our future unless we strike it rich. I remember riding the monorail as a child and I secretly envied all the families that stayed in the grand Floridian and Polynesian when they boarded.

Interesting nobody has mentioned old key west or saratoga springs. Nobody has mentioned grand floridian yet either. Perhaps they are all over-rated.

Our home resort is boardwalk inn. It is endlessly wonderful.

We don't really have a home -- we like so many of the resorts we generally do a split-stay because we can't choose just one for even one trip. :rotfl:

But ever since we tried AKL, we haven't taken a trip to WDW without spending at least a few days there. So I guess it's becoming a favorite.

Other than that, we like BC/YC, the GF and the Poly but none of them so much that a trip to WDW is not complete without staying at them.

We have stayed at POP the last 5 years and will stay there again this year. We liked the theming and we don't care about amenities because we are in the parks from open to close. Spending the extra for a mod or deluxe would be silly for us to do. We have a pool so we don't swim on vacation. I can't see us staying anywhere else anytime soon. :goodvibes
