a large, wooden packing crate?

I need the kind heavy machinery comes in. We are going to fill in our pond this summer. We are tired of the upkeep, but would like to keep some water plants and have a fountain. It'd be smaller and much easier to clean.

I saw a free-standing one in a packing crate. They had put a half barrel or something like that inside and filled it with water. Then they filled in with plants at the end. It was cute.

But where in the world would I begin to look for a huge packing crate? I don't know where to start. Wish I knew someone who worked in a plant where machinery was coming in. At DH's plant they are preparing to close, so everything is going OUT.

Auto Dealerships? I know some larger parts come crated.

Motorcycle dealerships also. I know some smaller bikes come crated, as do snowmobiles and ATVs.

These might be bigger than you need, but you could cut it down.

Also if there are any Freight companies (ABF, Consolidated Freight, CCX, etc) near you, you might give the depot a call, and see if they can help you.

Look in your local yellow pages under "wood". You might find it at a pallet company. Good luck.
