Where in the World to use Visa rewards?

During our last trip we wanted to use the Disney Visa reward dollars at DD but many of those establishments weren't participating. Magnetron comes to mind. Ended up using them at World of Disney and for dinner at Ohana and came home with some unused. So this next trip we're looking for creative places to use them as we will likely have several hundred to spend. Any ideas? They can be used in the parks, right? We tend to spend a lot on alcohol can we use them for that say at Pleasure Island? Is there a list out there somewhere that you know of? Thanks

We spent them all on souveniers. All of the in park stores took them. I believe the food places also (though not the ones that are not credit card capable.) I didn't know that there were dtd stores that don't take them. Good to know!

Used ours in the shops in the hotels! I bet you could go to the Disney Chase site and they probably have a listing....or visit a chase bank in your area and see if they have one. If I come across a listing I'll let you know!

We used our room key to charge just about everything to the room, then we had the front desk at OKW apply our Visa rewards to our bill upon checkout.

You can use the rewards at any Disney owned location. Most of the shops located at the West Side in DTD are not owned by Disney including Magnetron/Virgin Megastore. Most of the stores on the Marketplace side of DTD are owned by Disney.

You can also use your rewards card at your local Disney Store at the mall.

We do the same thing as Laughinplace199 does. When we checked into the WL I gave them the Disney VISA rewards card and they credited to our room. It was taken off our room bill.

How do you cash them in?

You have to transfer them to a Rewards card which is like a credit card. I can't remember if I transfered online or if I had to call but it was pretty easy. Once you transfer them to a card you can't transfer them back. They have an expiration date so make sure you use them by that date. Oh - order your card at least a month before your trip since it takes a couple weeks to get it in the mail.

We used them to buy our Park tickets and then used the remaining in the parks at restaurants and food/snack carts. We never had any problem. Worked just like a debit card. Downtown Disney was the only place that we didn't try to use them. We had spent them all before we got there.

A lot of the businesses in DD are not Disney owned so would not accept reward cards.

We just applied ours directly to our room bill too. That way I unloaded them as soon as we got there and then didn't have to worry about forgetting about them or losing my card.

Used them for our 3 night cruise 11/04. Went the afternoon before leaving, put the tips on the account, applied the card so I had a zero balance, and used the remainder at DTD!

They suggest you do not apply the entire card to your account unless you are sure it will be all used up as they will not refund anything from the card.

I also used my points at the World of Disney to buy souveniers. That way I could get the discount from the Disney Visa card. My mom has used her reward points in all of the parks. We have never had a problem with a store not accepting them.
