DH went to search for food. Found a McDonalds open but the line was crazy. He waited an hour and didn't move so he left and went searching for something else. DH went to his work to get a generator so we could have some heat,fridge and a few lights. Cable is out so no tv or computer or wifi. Everyone eat some turkey for me.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. It's me Diane. So I created another name so I could log in on my cell phone. We lost power last night at about 6:00 and are still out. All surrounding towns are out. Could be days before we get it back. What a crappy Thanksgiving!!!
HOW AWFUL! I'm so, so sorry . I'm guessing this is from the snow/wind/whatever wild stuff y'all have back east; wish I could send you some of our Texas sunshine. Beautiful day here. Good luck on the generator; DH keeps one at his shop for us too but that doesn't do YOU any good, does it? 
It's a shame we can't use a "genie's wish" and get you here to spend Thanksgiving with us. Our table always has room for guests and there's always, ALWAYS way to much food. Sending hugs

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! Our plans are not working. We're in Illinois visiting my grandparents, and we already planned on just doing thanksgiving in a restaurant since my grandma is doing chemo. Then last night we found out that all of my cousins are sick so they can't come at all.
I'm going to Europe on May 18th. Thanks for the congratulations!
Haven't talked to DD yet this morning so I'm hoping DGD is feeling better today...will find out shortly as we make our way to their house for a family gathering of 25. We've eaten our Thanksgiving dinner in a restaurant once...with friends. DD and 3 of her friends from band marched in the Houston Thanksgiving Parade with the Foley's All Star Band. Was a VERY memorable Thanksgiving Day...we had SUCH fun...missed being with our family but created some VERY special memories that day. I'm sure Grandma is grateful having even a small part of her family with her today. Hugs to all of you too this morning. (Is your Mom okay with you going to Europe? I was VERY nervous when DD & DH went with our high school band...and that was 30 years ago!

Yeah. Both of my parents were fully supportive when I applied and excited when I got in! My dad studied abroad for a full semester in Germany when he was in college. From what we're doing it sounds plenty safe. They do this same trip every year.You guys are scaring me; don't like reading about these "Thanksgiving Day problems"!
