Where in the World is Oliver?

The gang seems to love to make Oliver do silly things around Epcot's World Showcase. So let's give them some ideas. I'll start.

USA - Make him run through the square on a toy stick horse yelling, "The British are coming! The British are coming!"

ENGLAND - Dress him like a Buckingham Palace guard and make him stand at attention during the whole show.

JAPAN - Make him ask a Cast Member how far it is to Kazakhstan.

MEXICO - Make him ask a couple of random strangers how they feel about Trump wanting to build a wall around the Mexico Pavillion.

CANADA - Make him sing the Canadian National Anthem as guests walk by. (The British Accent would really sell this one.)

I'm all for Ollie doing silly stuff like dancing in the rain but instead of always asking goofy questions to the CM's perhaps he can highlight a CM and ask them to tell something they like about the pavilion or recommend a piece of merchandise. I'm not sure if CM's would get in trouble for being part of a vlog. I liked the format of Ollie's Very British day and the Katsura grill review and think that could be made into a show on its own.

ETA- I like the title "Where in the World is Oliver?" I think this would be a great title for a new show of his own. It doesn't limit itself to World Showcase, it includes all of WDW. Somebody please tag Ollie in this thread!

I feel really uncomfortable with these "bits" and as I listen to Oliver during these live casted things I feel even more uncomfortable. I hope they stop these things because it is interrupting real CM work and makes it seem as if Oliver's feelings don't matter. And, while some snark is ok, it's starting to border on mean and that takes away from the magic of being in the world of Disney while I listen to the show.

Solution - Maybe the podcast should send Pete or John to do these things, have them do it live on the podcast and afterwards explain how they feel being made to do ridiculous and potentially degrading things, and then I wouldn't feel so bad about it for Oliver.

And, of course, it could just be me, and everyone else likes this kind of entertainment.

Lol.
Who would have thought asking a cast member where they can find tea would incite such triggered individuals.

Asking a short question to a cast member isn't interrupting anything. Most of the time, there's several ones just standing around waiting to assist someone.
Oliver is a big boy and clearly doesn't have insecurities with public speaking. No one is forcing him to do anything wrong. Not even close to being mean to him or cast members.

"Degrading". Um, no? Not sure you are using the right word there..

With love, l.o.v.e.

We have already discovered there are two sides to this, she just stated her take. She is not the first to explain her dislike, if they continue the gags I am certain she wouldn't be the last.

If she is stating her opinion, and not in anyway degrading the podcasters or other posters, I think she is absolutely using the "right words."

There are people who think it's wrong or at least inappropriate to film others without their consent or knowledge. I don't understand why this concept is so outrageous to some. I think it's a perfectly reasonable concern.

Oliver asking for tea because as Pete put it, "he talks funny" WAS funny. I absolutely grant that, I have a sense of humor. The problem is the need to raise the bar next time.
I would say the joke about Mexico is too far, actually rereading your list they are all too far.
Why is humiliating someone as witty, charming and geniune as Oliver so hilarious to people?
In the park any gag can be witnessed by numerous onlookers. Disney is magic, it's very special, no guest deserves to feel laughed at or mocked at Disney.

I have an idea that I think everyone can get behind.

How about releasing 2 shows each week? One is a G-rated show with Oliver doing very inoffensive things (like watching paint dry or eating a Dole Whip or sitting on a bench) and one is PG-rated show with Oliver doing his usual hi-jinx.

Then everybody just downloads whichever makes them feel comfortable. Here's how it works:

1) The podcast team does a regular live show each week.

2) At the end of the show, they tape 2 segments with Oliver. And Craig splices them into the middle of the live show making two files to be posted.

Problem solved!

Lol okay what a cute compromise, although probably not practical. I think we forget as Dis fans we all probably have far more in common and agree on a lot more then we disagree on.

I don't know why people have such a hard time with other people having different opinions. Some people don't like the "get Oliver to do stupid things" segments. This board is absolutely the appropriate place to give feedback on what we like or dislike about the show. The team can decide what they want to do about the feedback.
