Where in the world did you eat Thanksgiving dinner and how was it?

To help the 2017 folks....

We ate at GFC. They had a modified menu, steak; vegetarian pasta; salmon; turkey; maybe pork? The Turkey dinner had turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, stuffing. Was $34! And just okay. My parents had the steak and said it was great (my dad's a beef cattle farmer, so that's a big compliment). The steak was $33.

I noticed the Mara had almost the same dinner and it was $14.99. They also had a holiday sandwich for $10. Jiko had a Thanksgiving dinner. It had roasted breast and leg, potatoes, squash and something else. For $45.

We ate at Be Our Guest.
They had their regular menu plus a special turkey dinner meal (same as above) and pumpkin tart. All was good except a bit too salty.

Last year we did Boma and it was great! It had a nice mix of Thanksgiving food plus African food.

We ate at Cape May yesterday and were really happy with the choice. The traditional thanksgiving dishes were great, and they had the rest of their normal buffet too. So we had the traditional meal of turkey and crab legs

We also ate at Cape May. We enjoyed the turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing and gravy along with the regular seafood buffet.
This thread is great by the way....I searched so much for info on Thanksgiving meals and it was hard to find out anything.

We ate at Trails End yesterday and were very happy. They had their regular buffet plays smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, real cranberry sauce, pumpkin and pecan pies and a couple extra veggies. I believe they also had sweet potatoes, we just didn't try them.

I sort of wish we'd tried that. We chose Whispering Canyon instead and found they had a fixed menu. It was turkey, ham, and beef tenderloin, served with an apple cheddar salad, (very "squeaky") green beans, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, cornbread, and a pumpkin pie tart. The meats were all very good, and all the sides were just okay. The pie was very good, but three out of four of us don't eat pumpkin so got nothing. For $180 before tax, I wasn't pleased with the desert situation. We spent a little under $10 LESS at Cali Grill two nights prior for a MUCH better meal (not to mention much better service and a spectacular view.) I think we'd try Trail's End if we were ever back on Thanksgiving.

Yes one reason I chose TE was because younger DS isn't a huge fan of traditional Thanksgiving food but DH wanted the traditional stuff, so since they had both their regular buffet menu plus the added holiday items I hoped (and for once came out on top lol) it would be a winner. I'm sorry you were disappointed in WCC; a reason to come back next year for Thanksgiving maybe??

Here's a photo from Cape May. The soup was clam chowder and tomato bisque.

And this was at Coranado Springs Pepper Market. We didn't eat there but saw this sign.

1) Ditto.
2) We would have selected another location, but we had friends who were camping and wanted Trails.
. . . we meet a lot of guests who come down for camping at The Fort
. . . after an initial meet-and-greet conversation, they become friends (as those in this case) *
3) For us and our guests, Trails End,
. . . As always, was very satisfying.
. . . Has not g-r-e-a-t eats, but pretty good for Comfort Food.
. . . And, for the price, a darn nice value and easy on the pocket book

* And, no, I did not cook or bring snacks on this M&G, due to the holiday. My rotisserie chicken is "OK+", but people do rave about my potato salad (I think due to EVERYTHING being home made, including the mayonnaise). But, I did just happen to bring a couple bottles of some nicely chilled Hawaiian wine bottled at the Tedeschi Winery on Maui (Ulupalakua Vineyards). Their "Maui Splash" is a light and sweet white wine - sort of like a White Zin - but pineapple based. MrsRustyScupper only likes sweeter white wines, so rarely touches reds. We go through about a case every 1½-months between our own consumption and gifting. Makes a good aperitif, and a cute change when binging wine to a friend's house.

Back in 2012, we had our Thanksgiving meal at Coronado Springs Pepper Market. It was just us and maybe three other families. The food was really good, and with everyone else at the parks, we really enjoyed a nice quiet family meal!

Rose and Crown this year, the special was the traditional dinner. We have done Yachtsman St, TE & Brown Derby in the past. All were good, no complaints.

We ate at Captain's Grille brunch. Fantastic variety- breakfast foods AND carved turkey/ham and all the other traditional items. It was buffet and I think it was $33.

Well we decided to do two meals on Thanksgiving.

First we did brunch at Captain's Grille. Fantastic, amazing, terrific, highly recommended. They had traditional breakfast foods, some lunch/dinner stuff like chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, peel and eat shrimp, seared tuna, a few different salads plus a terrific charcuterie board. Then carved turkey and ham, both highly tender and delicious. The desserts were fantastic and there were so many, it was hard to choose. I would choose that meal over any other for Thanksgiving again.

Then we did a late dinner, 8:30, at Boma. They had traditional turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes but we focused on the African food which was all terrific. DH and I focused on the soup and stews more than anything. Since we were seated close to 9:00, we were the next to last people at the restaurant. They continued to keep the buffet going as long as we were there, and our server actually came to us to ask if we were done with the buffet. I'm sure if we said no, they would have kept it going, refilling as needed. It was great.

I think overall I would choose the Captain's Grille meal if I had to choose one as the best. But both were great.

Last year we spent Thanksgiving in San Angel, it was one of our favorite restaurants from our first visit.

I'm going to be the special snowflake here and mention my Thanksgiving meal at Disneyland since that's my home park.

I ate Thanksgiving lunch at River Belle Terrace. They had a traditional Thanksgiving plate of turkey and gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes (with skin), cornbread stuffing, and a side of cranberry sauce. My only small complaint would be that the green beans were a bit hard to eat due to the preparation. I want to say they blanched them, which left them nice and crisp, however since they were presumably prepared earlier than my reservation, the crispness wore off and they ended up just a bit too hard to chew. My fork couldn't even spear a couple of them. Flavor was very good as they were heated in some kind of herb butter so really my only complaint would be the consistency of them.

Regardless of that, 10/10 would do again! If this isn't allowed or belongs in another forum for Disneyland rather than Disney World please let me know. Glad to be here!

We ate Thanksgiving dinner at the special DVC dinner at the Contemporary. The food was good but no way near worth the price. We will eat at Trail's End next year.
