First...all 3 of our personal acquaintances from this weeks cases ARE vaccinated; we think the 4th one has also received the vaccine but not 100% sure. 39% of our county is FULLY vaccinated with an additional 46% that has received at least 1 dose. That puts us at 85% all or partially vaccinated. Our issue with both the girls is #1...they're teenagers and #2....NONE of the vaccines (like the others you mentioned) are FDA approved yet. Why? What's taking so long? Technically, these drugs are still "experimental" which is why you have to sign the waiver promising not to sue the companies if issues develop. That's a huge issue when it comes to our children and makes us think long and hard IF we want to take the chance with their young lives. True, death rate from Covid, IF you've had the vaccine, is low BUT there are issues WITH the shots. When John entered the ER (after encountering a smart mouth ER doctor who told him "well maybe now you'll tell your friends THEY should get vaccinated"!) he gave them his information (he had the J & J shot)(and the ER doctor APOLOGIZED to him with a very red face!) they IMMEDIATELY took him in for a CAT Scan to check for blood clots. That's another HUGE issue...are these shots doing just as much harm as they are good? It's a HARD decision and it's very frustrating that our cases have tripled in the past few weeks. Allie is leaning to getting the J&J...at least she was before John's issues today...but she's certainly not taking the decision lightly. She's done a TON of research and fully understands the pros and cons.

Well said!! This is exactly why we are not getting the vaccine...yet. The survival rate is 98%.

Issues with having children I didn't know that was a side effect, which vaccine is that. I can't blame Emily for driving away, it's scary. Nick's girlfriend is sick and got tested today. They are supposed to leave for Cape Cod this weekend for vacation. A guy Don works with wife went to Foxwoods Casino is now really sick and got tested.

Both of the "2 time shots" alter your DNA which some say could lead to issues. However, Sara had one of her friends contact her brother-in-law today (he's a nurse practitioner) who said he's done a LOT of research on that. He's drawn the conclusion that the percentage is so low it's not an issue. But Allie doesn't like the fact that they "alter your DNA". All that "medical information" is "above my head" so I'm NOT the person to recommend in either way; research, research, research is what every young individual should do and Allie has spent a LOT of time doing that this summer and she's hesitant.

The vaccines are supposed to keep you from getting really sick and dying but nobody knows for sure it's still too new but you can still get it. The sad part is hospitals are not reporting the ones who are vaccinated that are in the hospital only the non vaccinated ones. Nurses have that have said there are people in the hospital that have been vaccinated but they aren't reporting it.

YES...there have been a LOT of medical personnel calling in to the 3 radio shows I listen to every day saying EXACTLY the same thing. They're reporting "Covid cases" but no they "aren't allowed" to give the % of "Covid cases that HAVE been vaccinated" and "no vaccinated Covid cases".

Update on John...he's gone home ! No blood clots on the CS but they watched him the entire day. Doctor says, hopefully, he's "on the mend" that today was his worst day. On the other hand...another positive among our friends. One of the soccer Mom's tested positive this afternoon.

Might be a couple of rough days for her; hope she improves quickly. Keeping fingers crossed on the girlfriend! To close of a contact for your family IF she has it; you'd have to quarantine for a few days and I know you don't want to spend the rest of your summer doing that! SO FAR today haven't heard of anyone else testing positive so keeping our fingers crossed!
