Good start! (Y'all haven't shut down school yet have you?)

Steph's school is on spring break next week. Then they are going close the school for two more weeks and do online classes. Most of the colleges are doing this. There are a few school districts that have closed mine is still open.

What a pleasant trip to a place everyone should visit at least once ... and to be "unplugged" and away from all the MADNESS! What the hell??? We could gets limited service at Sara's lodge, The Thunderbird, and Tuesday night we got a text and phone call from Amanda telling us how crazy everyone has gone. I realize this is serious but look how many people have died from the FLU this year and the toilet paper shelves weren't empty over those numbers! Amanda needs Clorax to clean her dog grooming area...NONE available...and she asked us to search for toilet paper! We found some at the General Store in the GRAND CANYON ...and my luggage contained 5 rolls of TP for the trip home! Schools in our area have closed for next week and all extracurricular activities postponed! At least UIL had a meeting today and agreed to just postpone the rest of the soccer season and move the playoff games back 2 weeks, as well as baseball, softball, golf and tennis. Track is the only spring sport that keeps the same schedule since that season just started. UIL is giving schools a 2 week period to make up games, tournaments and matches. Redstorm was SO afraid she'd played her last high school soccer game . But the trip was fabulous. I have fallen in love with the little town of Williams, Arizona...

...and how about this piece of pie served at a little "home cooking cafe" ...and a cute little coffee shop that makes a "Happy Camper" latte just as good as any I've had from Starbuck's!

We started Tuesday with a HUGE breakfast before we headed for the GC, arriving for our first glimpse around 5 that afternoon and David giving me my FIRST, of many, "heart attacks" with his pictures FROM THE EDGE!

Low hanging clouds that first day but nothing compared to the next morning when the canyon was ENTIRELY "socked in" with fog! It would "lift", then settle back in again...

Turned out to be a beautiful day around noon with a really pretty sunset...

More later...need to get unpacked and start laundry...

Steph's school is on spring break next week. Then they are going close the school for two more weeks and do online classes. Most of the colleges are doing this. There are a few school districts that have closed mine is still open.

Most of last years soccer girls are on spring break this coming week too. At least 3 of them were suppose to come to Friday's soccer game ; now that's postponed! So far 2 of last years seniors (1 from soccer, 1 from volleyball) have had classes CANCELLED for the rest of the year; they have to complete their courses online. The VB friend had break last week and had traveled back to California Sunday only to be told they were suspending classes for the rest of the year! Her brother left immediately to help her pack and move back home! The other one goes to Texas A&M and they suspended classes for the year as of yesterday. Sure hope Stephanie gets to finish the year! Once schools started extending spring break here, almost ALL others followed. As far as we know there's only 1 school in our district that hasn't extended the break yet. Sara had a massage this afternoon and she overheard one of the ladies in the spa talking to her "temporary replacement" back in California. She's in school administration and their school district was shutting down for the rest of the year and the poor "temporary lady" was clueless as to how payroll needed to be handled! The lady getting the massage told Sara she was going to have to cut her Vegas trip short and get back home to help figure out what to do next! Sara just sent a text letting me know Southwest has finally dropped fees and fares so she changed her flight next Thursday and also the girls' flight for this coming Sunday. Just moved the times around but saved $165 on Allie & Katie's fares. Treavor changed his for Sunday from Houston Hobby to Austin but those prices were the same; have a feeling he'll be changing his AGAIN. Just don't see that pool tournament continuing. We ate at the Golden Steer last night in Vegas (a Vegas restaurant that the Rat Pack....Elvis...movie stars would eat at when they were in Vegas...LOVE the history of that place and they play music from that era ) and one of our waiters said there was "talk" that most of the "high end Vegas restaurants" were also CLOSING as of Monday! It's the craziest thing I've ever heard of!

I was SO disappointed when we got up Wednesday and we couldn't see our car in the parking lot because of the fog! It was SOOOOO thick! Our tour guide was wonderful though; the first stop was pretty much a bust (we couldn't see the EDGE much less the canyon!!!) but the next 3 were a lot better and by the time we got back to the Lodge at 1 PM it was sunny, beautiful and cool. That night the low was around 30! We LOVED it (it was 80 back home!) The guide was FULL of history and so funny. We did the sunset tour Wednesday evening and it was FABULOUS! B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L That guide was even better than the one from the morning...LOVED him! After sunset, we were all on the bus and he pulled Allie, Katie and a couple other younger kiddos back off the bus to point out the stars! I'm going to post some of the sunset pictures later; honestly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The colors of the canyon left us speechless!

That breakfast was out of this world! We ate at The Peppermill in Vegas. We had brunch there last July on the day Amanda and Bryan got married. Allie's pancakes were as big as the PLATE...and it was a stack of THREE! She couldn't even finish it!

...and this is our crazy, daredevil evening guide! Look how close he is TO THE EDGE! He's on a ledge that drops off into NOWHERE! But he sure knew the best place to stop for the actual sunset! When he took our picture he was AGAIN standing on a ledge above us!

It took them 6 "JUMPS" before they were both "up" at the same time!

We're worried about the same thing to for Allie! ☹ Or postponement ... along with her friend and her mother, they're suppose to leave for DW 2 days after our scheduled graduation date on Friday, the 29th. One of Allie's friends who signed with Texas Tech to play volleyball is suppose to report to the Tech campus on June 1 ! The toilet paper shortage is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of! ... Well they just closed our school district until the 30th. But I still have to go in. Not sure what the heck I'm supposed to do, I do attendance and discipline. No kids no attendance or discipline. I guess we'll find out Monday.
