Happy New Year's Eve to all as we begin a CrAzY January ...just got off the phone with DD as we marked our calendars together for January. 13 soccer games/tournaments; 2 One Act Play performances; 3 basketball games and 1 basketball tournament PLUS JURY DUTY FOR ME!

REDSTORM IS SUPER, SUPER EXCITED...she got a letter from STANFORD UNIVERSITY today ; she's been interested in attending Stanford since Jr. High ... but I DON'T WANT HER IN CALIFORNIA! Not sure if it's an invitation to apply or what but the first correspondence is super exciting for her.

YES...JURY DUTY...AND IT'S FROM DISTRICT COURT . At least I'm #99 so SHOULD be "safe" unless they shuffle the numbers...which is what happened the last time and I ended up #4 .

Going to be a FUN year for her ; DD talked to one of her friends she hasn't seen in a couple years over the holidays and discovered she and her family are now living in Corpus which makes THAT college even more promising. She graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi and loved it there. We'd ALL feel SO much better if she were in the vicinity of someone we knew when she's 2-3 hours away from us. But...will be fun to see what other offers she gets.

Does Allie want to go far away? Steph didn't want to go far away. Only two colleges in New England offer her major. We got lucky with UNH being one of them. She's glad she is able to come home every weekend.

No she doesn't; she's a homebody too. A&M @ CC would be perfect; 2 1/2-3 hour drive and it's actually ON an island...the only college in the US that's ON an island. They don't offer "dorms"...they use apartments or townhouses for their students. The newest one is adorable...very "islandy" . It's on the "mainland" but that's where the soccer complex is too and the main campus is a short 5 minutes across a bridge away. I would love to live here...

It is located on our Momentum Campus, just steps away from athletic and intramural fields, and features apartment and townhome floor plans with 12 month leases (August-July 31). Residents have their own master bedroom and access to group study lounges and recreational activities to support and enhance your college experience.

She's been interested in Stanford because of their academics and it's a great school for her major. I'm thinking if she thought Val Pro (in Indiana) is to far from home she'll FOR SURE think Stanford is to far. She and Stephanie are SO MUCH ALIKE! UNH worked out for her and unless she gets offered a FULL scholarship I'm thinking A&M@CC will be her college home. (And WE'LL be the ones spending weekends there with her! Her daddy and Pappy would LOVE the opportunity to go deep sea fishing every weekend! )

Diane...hope you're watching the Gator Bowl (told DH earlier we were stupid...we should have gotten tickets to the bowl game and then DRIVEN DOWN TO DISNEY WORLD! since we'd already be in Jacksonville ). A&M started up 7-0, fell behind 13-7 and the score is now 35-13 A&M ; Aggies got their act together and Williams is having an awesome night...he's the one that made the plays in the 7 OT win against LSU earlier!
