Quick service or sit down?

Long day yesterday! Sara & family checked out of the Poly but met us while we were having breakfast with a bag of things to send home with us. Had a super fun waiter, Adam, at Kona and really enjoyed breakfast. Back to ASM; finished packing and hung out in the lobby and food court until pickup time. Amber (dance teacher) and her family played at the pool before their early evening flight. Our flight was delayed about 45 minutes due to one of those infamous thunderstorms; had to wait for baggage handlers to load the plane because of the rain and when we arrived in Austin waited by baggage carousel about 30 minutes before luggage arrived! By the time we left the airport we were SO tired; stopped for a quick dinner and made it back home by 10. By the time I was ready to go to bed I didn't have the energy to walk down the hall to the bedroom! Fun trip but just can't do the summer trips anymore; the heat wiped us out big time and David figured we walked over 45 miles! Continues here...right now the temperature is 97 with a real feel of 116! Not even going to venture out to the pool today! Nice cool house and plenty to do inside including editing and transferring almost 2,000 photos.

Diane...you feeling any better? Thinking I may be headed down that direction now; SO stuffy and ears clogged...can't clearly hear a d*** thing and have had to use my inhaler more in the last 2 days than our time at DW! Hope you're back to normal by now; you've dealt with this for weeks!

This is from the Connections Eatery. Also the new location of Starbucks and, again on this trip, the lines there were SOOOOO long! I just smiled and walked out the back door for a 5 minute wait at Joffrey's!

Can’t believe your trip is over already. Glad you got to have your Kona breakfast. Weather here has been cool and rainy. It’s raining now temps in the 60s. I think we had one day that reached 80.

Raining and 60's sounds Heavenly to us down here! I've been watering all day...preparing for an enormous water bill! Our neighbor kept our front yard looking nice but the back yard was all dry; we started covering it yesterday and finally finishing up this evening. Don't know why but went to the vet after lunch and when I came home the neighbors across the street had a HUGE limb (like HALF OF THE TREE) laying over their driveway and blocking the entire front porch! I don't know how but it missed both the cars they park in the driveway! We had a fairly large limb fall out of one of our trees onto the neighbors vacant lot the day before we left. We've been having southernly winds but not strong; it's a puzzle. David thinks the wet spring and all of a sudden intense heat and dryness may be stressing them.

You should probably go back to the doctor if your still not better; when I have those major sinus issues I end up getting a shot and it does help. So sorry you're having those issues STILL. I thought by now you'd be better! In February the only thing that gave me relief was Alka Seltzer Cold Plus...you might want to give that a try.

Trip WAS fast but even those few days were HARD! SO hot and, because of the dance schedule, I wasn't comfortable trying any LL reservations. We did stand in line for FoP (I remember now why Stephanie likes the candle scent you told me about ); wait was a tad over an hour and that was rough. The standing around was harder on our backs than the walking! We didn't do any rope drops...kept it casual. Allie got #3 Boarding Group for Rise! They did rope drop everyday and purchased Genie+ so they ended up riding everything at least once, most things more than once. They had to leave the dance gala for Guardians which was disappointing and Katie missed a few things because of rehearsals but they had great luck. BUT...there WERE some long lines in the LL's too; they almost missed a dinner reservation when they ended up in line almost 45 minutes at Guardians. There were quite a few breakdowns too; Rise was down off and on all Friday. Our plan was to go straight to HM on Wednesday (we got there about 15 minutes after rope drop) but noticed it was down right after we entered the park. POTC showed a 30 minute wait when we were passing Crystal Palace and by the time we got there it was 55 minutes! But QS pre-ordered meals were the opposite! We'd order and maybe 3 MINUTES later be notified our meal was ready! Bus service was great...I don't think we waited longer than 10 minutes even after leaving at night. We got ice cream after the MK fireworks and enjoyed that before walking to the bus stop and it was 5 minutes and a bus was there. Prime Time seated us at exactly our reservation time and Kona seated us 10 minutes early. (Pancakes were SO good and Kona coffee...!) I ate lunch with Sara, Treavor and Katie at Le Cellier (David and Allie were craving Irish Food so they went to Raglan Road in DS) and we were seated almost immediately there too. SO glad to see the "old" fireworks back at the MK and EPCOT's are really good too...much better than the 50th Anniversary shows! Believe it or not, I didn't purchase much AT ALL on my shopping trips. The only thing I found that I HAD to have was a really pretty 4 park ornament in one of the Germany shops. I'll take a picture of it when I get caught up...waiting for my Christmas Store delivery too...really cute 2023 ornament from there. Don't remember which one I decided on ...had a cute Chip and Dale AND Donald and couldn't make up my mind! Didn't find ANY shirts I liked and that's always my #1 souvenir! Very disappointed with what was offered. The only shirt I liked with the "100" logo and colors was LONG SLEEVE and when it's 100+ degrees back home that's a "stupid purchase" ! AND...there were NO MICKEY PRETZELS! I always bring home 3-4 large bags (the girls LOVE Mickey pretzels) and we found none! Even walked over to All Star Sports one evening to see if they'd have some by chance. The CM was upset too ; he's also a huge fan of the Mickey pretzels and said they haven't gotten a shipment in weeks. Found ONE Christmas gift and that was for Allie! Treavor flew out this evening and Sara and the girls went back to DS (they've been at Universal the past 2 1/2 days) and then they're going back to the Poly to watch fireworks from the beach. They all said 2 days was LONG enough at Universal.
