Reading the Houston Chronicle this morning and had to smile about an article...it contained famous quotes from famous Texans. I thought about non-football fans, Jeff and Denise, and Diane and I who love the game, when I read this one from former Texas governor Ann Richards while speaking to former Houston Oilers coach, Bum Phillips, "Politics is a lot like football-you have to be smart enough to play the game and dumb enough to think it's important."
Diane...you'll appreciate this one from Bum Phillips, "Good sportsmanship gets you beat 28-17."
Another favorite of mine that all Texas public school attendees can laugh at, "The first name of every geography teacher in Texas is COACH"...(90% of our coaches also teach an academic subject and 99% of those teach geography, world history or Texas history.

)
And this is a REAL favorite by writer, Sandy Sheely, on Dallas' wealthy women: "Nowhere else would you put on pink shorts, a lynx coat, a seventeen-carat diamond and get into a white Rolls Royce to go to Safeway."
