I love my son-in-laws sense of humor. For the past 3 MONTHS, he's been trying to set up a time to have line laid to transfer his home phone service from their current residence to the new house. EACH month, an AT&T rep has "come to look" but has failed to put the service request in the system. He waits today ("our representative will be there BETWEEN 8 AM & 6 PM and you must be there to greet him" ), meets with the rep, explains the situation and is told to "call and have the service expedited". He does; spends 50 MINUTES on the phone with a lady from INDIA ; she finally understands his request and then asks for directions. SIL: "directions from where?"; India lady, "I just need directions, Sir..."; SIL: "FROM WHERE?"; India lady, "SIR...I just need DIRECTIONS"; SIL: "Okay...go to the nearest INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT and get a flight into HOUSTON'S Bush International Airport, leave the airport on JFK Blvd. and get on the West Loop, take the 610W exit; then the 290 W exit and proceed......". She finally got the MESSAGE and asked for "directions from Houston to Bellville".....

Ya know...after you deal with incompetence for 3 months it's between "going postal" and "laughing". SIL tends to choose laughter! The really frustrating fact is all they need is a straight line dig from Point A to Point B, about 1000 ft. The group that will do the work is located 20 MILES to the north of us...and we have the PHONE NUMBER of the supervisor! Yet...the "order" has to come from INDIA!

How's your DH? Hope he (and you) had a restful night!
