Not the Biergarten...:rolleyes1. :tink:

Good evening everyone.

Time to do a little "run" report.

I had a friend that did the Goofy Race and a Half in January 2013 to celebrate her 50th birthday. This race is a 1/2 marathon run on Saturday and a full marathon on Sunday. Yes this race and a half is appropriately named:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I decided to do the same thing. I had signed up around may or June of last year for this 1/2 marathon to celebrate turning 55 next month. My one sister and I had also signed up for the Tower of Terror 10 mile run in October 2013. I was going to use this to see where I was in the training for the half. Started to train a little from July thru mid September. This is basicly when all training stopped. We did the Tower run or i should say we finished the run. So i knew what i still needed to do for the half marathon 3 months later. I did make an attemp to train for a couple of days after but life priorities changed. Some on here knew what was happening in my backround. Only a couple on here knew that on November 25th 2013 God decided that dad had suffered enough and took dad home. Not going to get into any details but It had been a tough last year for dad. Quality over quantity!!!

Now up to the half on January 11th. I got there on Thurday evening and went over to the ESPN complex to pick up the bib and runner package. The crowd was not bad at all in this time frame. While walking around the complex and remembering where thru the complex my sister and i ran in October brought back a flood of memories. The October run at the time turned out to be "7 weeks" before dad passed. I then realized that i was back at Disney for another run in what was "7 weeks" after dad had passed. It became a very emotional night. I was supposed to meet up with the friends that i was there to run with. Lets just say went back to resort, grabed a bite to eat and headed back to the room.

Since November 25th the only real motivation was to finsh the race no matter what and asking for a lot of help from above because i was going to need it.

On to race morning. Was up around 2:45am and off the the prerace area by 3:30. The temp was at 70 degrees and a little threat of rain but none really fell. It did stay cloudy for the entire run which was very comfortable. We were told that 26,000 had registered for the run. They divided everyone into corrals and labeled them by letters. I was in the last corral which was "P". While i was telling my brother tonight about the run he said that all of the old folks were starting in the aar"P" corral. :lmao::lmao: I wish i would have thought of that. The first corrals started about5:30 and mine started at 6:30

Wow! It's so DARK! Looking forward to hearing more Ed. Wish you could have slept in if you didn't have to start running until 6:30. That is so early!

This is from a park but not HS and not from a ride..

Oh, I'm sorry! It is the back of a ship and it is from the MK.

Peter Pans Flight

No, not from Peter Pan.

Peter Pan is my first thought too but if it's not would it be an attraction, shop or food service. :tink:

This is from/related to a food service in the MK.

Since the half marathon is called "The Donald" he was there to start all of the corrals.

:rotfl2: Sounds like basic training in the Army! :rotfl2: "Hurry up and wait"...DH said that 1,000 during his time at Ft. Bliss in El Paso. The "7 weeks" thing is "spooky" but the emotional connection probably got you through that grueling run. At least my buddy, Donald, was there to see you off........:thumbsup2. Did your sister run this one with you? :tink:

I had already planned to go at a set pace for as long as I could.

They block the roads in both directions so that they can stage and start all of the runners. The race starts on Epcot Dr and proceeds to World Dr. As you know the road is only 2 lanes wide approaching the exit ramp to World Dr and narrow's to the one lane. Once on World Dr it opens to 3 lanes which helps to spread out the thousands of runners. The 2nd mile flag is not far onto World Dr. Also the pirate ship that is in the median strip.

My sister did not run this one. I was enjoying taking it all on but the emotions were with me the entire run.

Thanks for the run report ED.:thumbsup2 Looks like a lot of fun. NOT :faint: I don't run.:rotfl2: Sorry to hear about your Dad.

Thanks Diane. I was not a runner until about 7 months ago. I had been going to the runs and chasing my friends around taking pics from various spots along the course. Decided to join them running.

Correct...Agent P's WS Adventure and it's located in Germany. The answer I'm REALLY looking for is WHERE it's located in Germany. :goodvibes :tink:

More thinking :scratchin; it's outside but not in the mini village. :goodvibes :tink:

No Ma'am, not by the Krystal kiosk but it is in the court yard area which means it is near the statue. :goodvibes :tink:

Not the Biergarten...:rolleyes1. :tink:

Anyone have any ideas??? It's really pretty easy with these clues...:rolleyes1 :tink:

I have been thru this way to many times in a vehicle and it felt pretty cool to be going thru it on foot.

It's almost "painful" putting my DW decorations back in the boxes for a year. :sad1: 48 down; what seems like 500 to go! :crazy2: :tink:
