I'm a teacher in Ayr. Great holidays but they always coincide with the most expensive times to travel. Swings and roundabouts I suppose. I'd love to find a real bargain flight etc but nope, it's premium prices all the way.

Hi , we are going the week before oct hols so kids missing 5 days, last time we did this was 2 years ago and my elder son had just started at Marr and the week before the oct hols was enterprise week and they didnt do anything that week, my younger son is going into p7 next week and currently i am not to enamoured with his school at the moment.This time we are staying at the Enclave suites , i drive area, got 1 night booked at the Contemporary for MNSSHP , so looking forward to it,

I stayed at the Contemporary for 2 nights last summer, in a tower room. It was fantastic, a real treat and the view of the fireworks was amazing. I'll be teaching P.7 for the first time next week! Had the class before so I know them well, but I'm a newbie teaching that stage. It'll be fine though. I don't know the Troon schools very well. I did a student placement many years ago at Struthers but that's the extent of it.

Now live in Sunny Margate in Kent.

Margate is like a second home to me - we holidayed down in Cliftonville for about 14 years when I was young. Used to stay in the same hotel every year - Ruxley Hall on Surrey Road (opposite the bowling greens) and had a beach chalet in Walpole Bay. Have some very happy memories from those days
