OK, I screwed up and now we can't get ressy's as planned in the world. Anyone have suggestions as to where we can eat Thanksgiving dinner in Orlando? I'm not even sure what restaurants would be open at this point... DH may kill me... We're staying at All Star Music - do they have a restaurant that will serve dinner?

All Star Music has a counter service restaurant. That's too bad about your ADR mix up.:sad1:
Have you tried making your ADRs for the other dates on your trip?

Just to throw out some ideas to you...Did you try restaurants in DTD? What about restaurants in some of the resorts (Chef Mickey, 1900 Park Fare, Jiko)?

Good luck to you!! :lovestruc

Check out www.allearsnet.com for restaurants that served Thanksgiving dinner last year, and try for some of those. A good friend of mine is having Thanksgiving dinner at WCC at the WL. There are several park and resort restaurants that will have holiday items on the menu. I would keep trying!

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner at Rainforest Cafe in DTD last year. We planned it that way as that is one of my families favorites. Plus, you can call 180 days out and get a reservation. Call 407-827-8500 and I think your family is going to be pleasantly surprised. It was a great dinner and everyone could choose what they wanted. If I remember correctly they even had a special Thanksgiving dinner meal you could order.

Don't forget to top it all of with a Volcano...Good Luck!!!

If you don't mind me asking, about how much did that run per person? I've never eaten at a Rainforest Cafe and I've heard mixed reviews on the food. I'm looking for something that serves Turkey, Ham, mashed potatoes and veggies. I'm looking into the list from AllsEars right now.

OK, DH was Ok with spending the extra money for a character meal... but I don't think I can get him to spend $30 or more pp for Thanksgiving dinner... I don't know what to do here... I'm so confused!

Thanksgiving at the Fort may be a fun option for you guys. It's basically Mickey's Backyard BBQ (dinner show) but with Thanksgiving items on the menu. There are characters and a live band also. A little pricey if you're not on the DDP or have DDE though. Where were you looking to have dinner originally? You have a little time, just keep trying for what you want. I was able to call today and get the Princess Storybook Breakfast for a friend after trying for several months, so it does happen, don't worry just yet!

We did Tgiving dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe for $19.99/person. My kids are both picky so we did not want to spend a lot. We had been touring the monorail resorts before dinner and to be honest, we saw a few other restaurants dinner plates - they were identical to what we were served. A few days later I was speaking with a lady at the Candlelight Processional about Tgiving - she had eaten at the food court at Pop - her dinner sounded identical to mine, but was only $11.95.

In other words, I think you can get a good dinner at a food court, but it may not have the "atmosphere" you were hoping for.

You might try the Grand Floridian Cafe.

:goodvibes I'm not sure about ASM but last year this is what All Star Sports had at their food court, and though as tinkerbell60 says you might not get the atmosphere you want the food is good and price would make your DH happy:

All Star Sports
End Zone Food Court '07
12:00 - 10:00pm

Price (not including beverage, tax and gratuity):

$10.99 - ages 10 and up

$5.99 - ages 3-9

Feature Menu

Roast Turkey with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Candied Yams, Seasonal Vegetables, Cranberry Sauce, Dinner Roll and choice of Pumpkin or Apple Pie.

BTW - We've eaten the special turkey dinner at Cosmic Ray's at the MK on Thanksgiving day and thought it was actually pretty good. My DH liked that turkey better than the ones I make! :headache: It was inexpensive and tasty with all the "regulars" like turkey, dressing (stuffing), mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, etc.

You could also get it ala carte, so if you wanted a family style meal instead you could do that - for example, order a large mashed potatoes and gravy, extra biscuits/rolls, etc. Some people were doing that as a takeout.

Don't worry - at WDW you'll never go hungry

One more thought, althought not a good one, is that Thanksgiving week will have the "holiday" pricing for the buffets and all-you-can-eat meals....I believe it's $4 per adult and $2 per child. This would not apply to counter service meals, but would character meals, Boma, etc.

Interesting to hear that the food courts and Cosmic Rays in the MK serve Thanksgiving fare...we currently have a TS ressie, but if we have to change our ADRs for any reason, it's nice to know we have other options. Thanks for the info! :goodvibes

We will be eating ribs and pineapple at the Spirit of Aloha on Thanksgiving.
We are very excited and I'm sure we will never forget it.
It's a WDW vacation extravaganza!!!
No matter where or what you eat, I'm sure it comes with a side of pixie dust.
