I happened to be browsing at SkyAuction yesterday just to kill a few minutes during lunch. They've got places all over the country. So I'm curious, where else have you gone via SkyAuction and were you pleased with the accomodations?

I'm particularly interested in places within a few hours of the Philadelphia area that might be good getaway locations. I figure at SkyAuction prices, even if we pay for a week and only stay 3 days, it'll probably still be a good deal.

Hi. Not that close to Phila. but we've gone to Hilton Head Island and rented a great 3 bedroom. Also to a 2 bedroom at Myrtle Beach in another super place. I just research the available places like on tug2.net or tripadvisor.com. and go with the attitude of ... 'for the price it doesn't have to be the taj mahal! Good luck; I love traveling more often in larger accommodations with skyauction.

We've stayed in a 3BR at Sunterra Powhatan Plantation in Williamsburg, VA. It was very nice.

Our sentiments exactly! We'd much rather travel 4 weeks/year at $50/nite than 1 week/year at $200/nite.

Not go to Orlando....

NEVER!!!

I have looked at HH,SC; Williamsburg, Va; some places in Ma; Gatlinburg, Tn; Panhandle of Florida.....

We've stayed at Shawnee resort in PA., not sure how far that is from Philly, but it's a great summer place. There's not much night life, but the resort itself is nice. I think I won a July week sometime in January or February one year.
Also Williamsburg, Hilton Head Island, Daytona Beach, Phoenix AZ, New Bern NC,
Myrtle Beach, Atlantic Beach NC and Ontario Canada.

We go to Orlando and Hilton Head at least once a year. The rest have been only once.

My friend and I did a 2 night cruise to no where lol! We got a great deal compared to what other people had paid.

My husband, daughter and my mother all went on a Carnival cruise... no problems - great deal!
I've wondered about that. We've taken 3 cruises with Carnival but always booked through our travel agent. Actually, 1 was booked direct with Carnival because we won the trip playing bingo on another cruise.

Did you compare the price for your trip with any other source? How did SkyAuction's price compare? I would definitely be willing to do this next time we cruise if the price is right.

I've gotten Rittenhouse Square in Philly through skyauctions. It was a consolation prize actually. I had won an auction for the Four Season and they withdrew the offer once I won (not a high enough bid :confused3 )

Cool place. Loved the bathrooms and free internet access.

Just don't buy food there. It was me, DH, DS and 2 DD. the total bill was $104. :earseek:

I also got a 2-night stay at the Wyndham Hotel in Wilmington Delaware through Skyauctions.

Nashville. We did one of the weekend auctions for a 2 night stay. It was a Fairfield promotion and we had to tour their resort but that wasn't a problem. We were going up for the Titans kids club day and just wanted to get a cheap deal. Won the auction for $1 plus $15 for the service charge so for $16 we got the Holiday Inn right off Briley Parkway with and indoor pool for 2 nights.

Have also seen the same deal for Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area but never in a time frame we could go.

Have thought about doing Williamsburg, etc. Lots of neat places on there but I figure if I'm driving that far, might as well just drive to Disney :teeth: .

We went to Maui in 2001 through Sky Auction. (Prices were better back then before Sky Auction was as well known.) It was a modest condo in an area that was not part of the main tourist area. I will say that I always keep in mind what I am paying, so I may not be as fussy as some.

Cancun Mexico- Mayan Riviaria- Stayed at the Grand Mayan Palace, was awesome! Again the food was alittle high priced ( we had a hotel suite not a 1 Br with kitchen), but what I paid for the week still made it a cheapest luxury vacation we've had.

Beside Orlando timeshares, (3) We've also booked a 17 night cruise for May 2006. :cool1: - LOVE SKYAUCTIONS!... just wish it was still a secret :listen:
