Where have you been?

I don't really want to make a poll, but I'm curious where everyone has gone with DVC points. We are potentially changing plans from a WDW stay to.... somewhere else. That's where your posts come in.

Please answer five questions for me:

1) Where did you go?
2) What month did you go?
3) Would you go back?
4) Was there much to do at the hotel/in the area?
5) Was it worth your points to go here instead of Disney?

OK - DLP twice - august and over christmas - well worth it - park passes included.

Portugal four seasons - 3 bed with pool for 200 points - May - exceptional - well worth it.

La Manga Spain - May - nice area but not worth it - found out when we got there rental prices low - and although lovely and clean accommodation nowhere near comparable to dvc

Vienna - v nice - last summer 2 nights only 20 points a night. Needed to use the points up quick and glad we went as probably wouldn't have tried there without dvc - nice hotel and worth the points.

Going to Cancun (Royal Caribbean) this November. 144 points (mid-season), and they gave us a two-bedroom even though we only asked for a one-bedroom. So we'll try to find some friends to go with us.

We wanted something besides Disney, since we're making two other short trips to Disney this year (we have 2005 and 2006 points to spend, since we just bought in), and we've been doing so many Disney trips in the past couple years with wedding planning and the actual wedding at WDW.

And since we wanted to be financially conservative with this year's main vacation (we are dying to go on a Med cruise but have put it off until 2007), this was a great way to go. Royal Caribbean is highly rated, the points are good, and I was able to use Skymiles, so we just paid for one airfare.

Went to Disneyland Paris in October and will be going to Devon (beach in UK) in February, both of these are our school holidays and was pleased to get the dates

Paris was very mild in October and Devon will be cold

These are well worth the points to me as we did not have to fly and I hate flying.

Other than DisneyWorld, we have used our points to stay at HHI as well as Hawaii. Hawaii was about 5 years ago and we gave the points to our son to stay at Kapalua Bay Hotel for his honeymoon. He loved Maui and the hotel and I love HHI.
