Where have my favourite restaurants gone on DDP?

Has anybody noticed how much tHe choice of restaurants on DDP has been reduced?? Last time we went was August 2012 and nearly everywhere was on it.
Was just about to book a 1 bed at OKW for August 2014 when we realised that a number of our family favourites have been taken off the Plan such as Teppan Edo, Yak and Yeti, Raglan Road (in fact most of the Downtown Disney Restaurants) and a Quick Service favourite of ours The Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. We've only just had a quick look but making us think twice about the deal.
We see that they have added an appetiser to the table service meal but I figure that with fewer restaurants it will just be even harder to book a table at those places on the list, and there are so many missing :confused3:confused3

The full list won't be released until end end of 2013. Those restaurants are rarely on the list this far ahead - I think it's to do with them being operated by 3rd parties and not Disney. Don't worry all of those should be on there.
I've not heard anything about an appetiser being added - it surprises me if that's true.

As the previous poster stated, Disney renegotiates the participants for the Dining Plan every year. The list is usually released towards the end of the year, for the following year. There is no need for alarm - nearly all of the usual favourites will be there plus probably some new additions too.

I was saddened by arriving at Beaches and Cream to find out it wasn't on the DDP last month!

Such a strange decision, seeing as it was seen as a 'waste of a TS credit' by lots of people.

So instead of us spending that TS credit on a $30-$35 meal, we wandered to Epcot and got a walk up at Chefs de France and spent it on a $65 meal!!

I'm glad we did though as we got to meet Remy :)

Didn't know Beaches and Cream was no longer on DDP!

Nor did I - that must be a very recent change :confused3

I think it might be.
I checked the official DDP list before heading there and it wasn't on it but a quick google search revealed people using DDP there this year so I thought maybe the official list was misprinted maybe, but no, they didn't accept it.

Place was empty too!

I'm confused... On the 2013 PDF it shows all of the restaurants mentioned earlier in the post?? We're about to make our adrs which is hard enough as it is. Now with the possibility that some of our choices may no longer be part of the plan it's even harder...

The OP is referring to those restaurants not yet showing as participating in the plan for 2014. They are still all participating in the plan for 2103 (and likely will be in 2014 once Disney has completed their negotiations and published next year's DDP brochure).

With the (possible*) exception of Beaches & Cream, as reported by luke above, the remaining restuarnats are as per the DDP brochure for 2103. You will have no problem using your credits.

*To note that this is the first I have heard of not being able to use the DDP at Beaches & Cream this year so it may have been a one-off or has been removed.

Just checked, and it IS on the official disney PDF.
You could be right about it being a one off although it was a bit odd, as we had a conversation with the host at the door who insisted it wasn't available.

Like I say, I'm glad though as we've eaten there before and enjoyed going to Chefs de France for the first time :)

Maybe it was your accent Luke, they had no idea what you were asking:rotfl2:

Seems bizarre how they can just take Beaches n Cream off the official list mid year :confused3

I know it didnt used to be on DDP, but then was introduced last year as we used it in there.

Shame really. I know its not the best for value on the DDP but with the abundance of food on offer with the plan it was a nice option.

Oh well :)

I've just asked about this over on the YC/BC thread so I'll update if I find anything out.

Someone on YC/BC thread said they asked yesterday and you can still use TS credits and somethings are available as a snack credit at Beaches and Cream.

Yeah it's always been table service but when we asked that question they said no, only snack credits next door.

Email to disney was needed anyway, this can just add to it ;)
