Where have all the freebies gone?

I realize the economy is down, which for me is all the more reason I want free samples. The last time we went to disney, my disney box was FULL of stuff that we received as free samples. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Anymore the Freebie thread has gone from weekly to monthly because they are so hard to come by. Why I tell you.

I totally agree and the samples that you do get are usually just enough for one use. One thing I have noticed is the section that used to be marked as samples at the drug store is now marked travel sizes, so maybe the mfgs caught on to what we were doing and decided no more.

I know!!! We used to have a weekly thread, now it's monthly and it's rarely ever on page 1.

I still get free samples by "liking" various businesses on facebook. There are free cookies from nabisco the first monday of every month. Ive gotten coupons for free stuff like air freshener and pain relievers. I signed up for emails from pantene and l'oreal. When they have a new product they usually send a link to request a sample. The same goes for p&g brandsavers. I joined vocalpoint and not only do they send freebies sometimes but they also send coupons to give to your friends. I think that manufacturers are becoming more saavy in the way that they market the samples. They are more likely to send samples to someone who has been a customer in the past or has expressed an interest in there other products. So the email links are reader specific or you need to make your request thru facebook, etc in order to get something.
