The train from Paris (RER) is not ideal for lots of luggage. There are no luggage rails so you'd have to store it on spare seats or under your feet. It is possible but I wouldn't recommend it. It'd be like taking all your luggage on the NY subway! The train does get busy at times.

The train station at Disney is located on the main hub next to Disney village and the parks. The hotels are a 5-15 minute walk depending on your hotel. There is a bus station next to the train station that has buses to the hotels, all of which are free of charge.

The other option would be to get a private taxi. BS transports offer a taxi from Paris to Disney for €80 (for 4 people).

I had wondered this too!

So do I understand that the RER allowsI] luggage to be brought on, it simply may not be convenient to do so? (as there is no official place to store it).

And since you mentioned walking, does that mean that the hotel shuttle also can not accomodate luggage?

We are only two persons so I would hate to spend the money on a private taxi from Paris city if there is another way.

For example, would it make any sense to take some form of transport back to the airport and then take the train to Disneyland from there? I thought from the airport the train was the TGV (different than the RER?).

I'm still learning and easily confused!

there are two types of trains running on that RER line - bilevel trains and single level trains. As you will most likely be on the train for 40 minutes or more you will want to find a seat which on a bi level train means going up or down steps.

If you are going peak times of day, the trains will be very busy from the centre to the outlying suburbs. (And remember that in France 'rush hour' in the morning is later than in America as people tend to start work later) Midday is also very busy from CDG-Etoile to Auber and beyond; often crammed in like sardines.

In non-peak times, you may well find a seat with space nearby at the back of a carriage. But as already pointed out, there is little space for luggage in the centre of the carriage.

Also note that many train and metro stations require going up/down stairs (or at least escalators) so you should be prepared to navigate with your luggage.

The best advice is to pack light and reduce your load.

We normally carry 2 big suitcases each and then a backpack so sounds like we may have trouble but again it is only two of us so hard to get a taxi there. Do they have shuttle buses from Paris or such that may have room for luggage?

Thanks for the help.

many shuttle companies will take you from Paris to DLRP for 100 euros or more for the trip

you should be able to do a search online for Paris shuttle companies. A taxi would be very expensive - I would suggest a fixed price service instead, if you are not taking the train

You'll find a list of travel companies listing in The Very Useful Info sticky under travelling by plane. Most that offer a service from CDG airport will offer a Paris city to DLP shuttle service :)

Thanks all if we choose the train how hard is it to store or take alot of luggage on board?

I don't know exactly what you are asking. Taking the luggage to the train requires entering the metro and/or train station, going down escalator or stairs to the platform, and boarding the train. Perhaps going up or down stairs if it is a bilevel train.

Debarking, you go up an escalator to the main level, walk outside the station, and board the bus. You can board the bus from the rear; there is one step up. While there may be an open space on the bus for luggage, it is often taken up with strollers

Thanks all so it sounds like you have to lug your luggage and that there is no way to check it on the train. Is there a storage area for it on the train or just on top of empty seats etc.

Thanks for all the help.

Depends on the type of RER Train (I take it we are still talking RER from Paris, not TGV from CDG)

The bilevel trains have a small free space at the stairs. This area does get busy during peak periods however. You have to stay with your luggage.

The unilevel trains have a small storage area at the back of each car, where you can sit and keep some of your luggage with you.

Frankly, I shudder at the thought of taking two large suitcases and a backpack. If you have any way to pack lighter, do so. Most people find it difficult to navigate with that much luggage around Europe. Hotel rooms and private cars are far smaller than in America, and people tend to rely on public transport.

I have often travelled from Paris to DLRP with my luggage and work supplies with no issues at all. But I cannot imagine getting through the turnstiles with two suitcases and a backpack, and then trying to get down the escalator and on board the train.

At peak rush hour in the downtown stations, the RER A train is fully packed. There is no room for people, let alone luggage. If you do want to travel with all your luggage, plan to do so at off peak times. Remember that peak includes the lunch period, and that in France one starts work later than in America and finishes work later. Empty seats are very rare until you reach the suburbs, and you will have a lot of black looks if you try and use seats for your luggage.
