When we went to WDW in late June into early July we ran into lots of Brazil and Mexico teenage groups. Some were a bit loud and other were calmer. Not bad teenagers, just some have a bit too much fun.

My guess is they stay at moderates.
Is that true ?

Do they arrive mostly in June/July/August ?
Are they around in May ?

We have always stayed in a deluxe and never ran into a Brazil and Mexico teenage group at our resort.

We may stay at a moderate, not sure which one, we never really looked into them, and would like a calmer stay at a moderate resort and avoid the Brazil and Mexico teenage groups and Pop Warner football players too.

Thank you.

I cannot answer your question about where the groups stay, but I can answer your question as to when...June -through the first week or so of July.

Our wedding anniversary is June 24th and our favorite park is MK (the most highely attended park by these groups). I am not trying to stir things up (as you said, some groups are great, some not so much as is characteristic of any large groups of teenagers without parental supervision for the most part), but after 4 visits during this time, I actually called Disney to ask when the groups stop coming for the most part.

Regardless, we are now waiting until July 30th to make our usual "anniversary" trip as that is what was suggested when I called Disney.

They mostly stay in the values.

We also saw a large group when we were there the week after Thanksgiving, in the parks, but we did not see them at our resort and we were at POR.

We were there in January last year and it was packed with a teen brazil group. They were very rude and knocked my kids down at magic kingdom several times while they were running through the parks. They had a video camera crew following them around with HUGE cameras (not like the small personal camcorders). I talked to one dad from Brazil (not with that group but with his family) while waiting for a tour and he said it was their school vacation time in January and that is why so many were there. I don't know where they were staying but the dad I talked too was very ashamed of the way the big group of teens were acting and explained that most were there without parents with some type group. He even apologized for them and said "they don't act that way at home".

According to wikipedia, the school vacation in Brazil are in July, December amd January for most of the country.

We were in WDW July 2010 (14-21) and there were TONS of tour groups at every park, everywhere we went. Could not get around them or go to a different part of the park, or go to a different park.

We stayed at the Poly and there were no tour groups there. I had talked to a tour teen and they were staying at Allstars Movies and Sports.

We went this year Aug 7-15 and did not see a single tour group, it was lovely!!

They stay at All Star Sports and All Star Music. Not sure about Movies or Pop. I doubt they stay at AoA as that is mostly suites.

They were also at CBR this summer, according to another Diser who really didn't enjoy the "exuberance" that the tour teens brought with them.

From everything I've read about the tour groups on these boards, they are in full force during the entire month of July.

We were there in July and were at ASMu. For the most part they didn't bother us, just a little in the food court trying to get to the drink stations. Otherwise we were fine staying at the same place they were.

Correct! :thumbsup2

I feel very ashamed for being Brazilian because of these tour groups... We're not like this, but when you get a bunch of teenagers with a lot of money and no parents, well, the tour group scene is what you see.:scared1::sad2:

They probably stay at value resorts, although I've seen a couple of ads from travel agents in here selling packages for moderate. And expect for the Brazilian crowd to grow: Disney is now advertising for the free dining plan on large maganizes in here, we're not in a recession and Obama has said he wants Brazilians to spend our money in the US (and he made that announcement in Magic Kingdom)! But most of us are nice, I promise! :yay:

A very large group was at POR when we were there last summer. July is a really big month for all the various groups. July and January.

I apologize if you felt I put done Brazil & Mexico, please excuse me.
Teens are teens, no matter what country they are from, and we did see tour groups who were polite and well behaved.

I know of USA high school groups who have also created problems in European countries and also places in the USA.
We once saw :cheer2:Cheer Leader competitions at WDW - but on the bus they continued to cheer. Our DS & DD were young back then, and they could not rest on the bus on the way back to our resort because of the loud cheers.
They were USA high school girls.

:) I just like teen groups which have more rules and chaperons. :)
Some Band high school groups at WDW seem to follow suit.
They were well behaved on and off stage.

I think that anyone trying to avoid tour groups will be in for a rough awakening. We've only been to WDW end of May/beginning of June, September and October, and we've seen tour groups, although I have not seen them at the deluxe resorts, only in the parks, especially MK.

Went for MLK weekend last year and there were brazilian tour groups everywhere. Besides the obvious issue of ignorance( entering theaters and stopping mid row while others had to climb over them, cutting in line, walking with no respect for those in their path) the tour guides were putting stacks of 50 or more passes into fast pass machines at a time, pushing fast pass return times hours ahead. They did not ruin the trip, but were a nuisance. No idea where they stayed, but definitely on property judging by the KTTW card stacks the tour guides were feeding into the fast pass machines. We were at WL.

Dear OP, I totally agree with you... ;)
Teens will be teens, no matter where they were born! And don't worry, I wasn't offended at all by your post. :goodvibes If I were at a Disney park, I would avoid at all costs bumping into a tour group! And by that I mean American cheerleaders, Brazilian tour groups, quinceanera Mexican groups... :thumbsup2

I think Disney has been offering for some time now a position for ICP alumni called "Super Greeter". They kinda help tour groups - although, for me, they are trying to keep the tour groups civilized...

This would explain why the CM at Disney told us to book our trip beginning on July 30th. Apparently it GREATLY slows down in August. We have stayed at all times in June and most of July through the 15th and it has always been packed.

I can understand how you must feel as it does reflect negatively on Brazilian people in general. Even though we know it's not true, I think most people who have bad experiences with the BTGs assume that is the way the people there are. After all the negativity associated with these uncontrolled groups, I can't imagine why Disney would be begging them to come back. Oh wait, maybe it's profit? :confused3

So we are tentatively planning on going January 30 for 11 days. Do you guys think there will be any BTGs left over? We have our fingers crossed because our tolerance for that sort of nonsense is very low.

But of course, we know that in general, American cheerleaders do not do the things that BTGs are notorious for.
