Hi All, Well, I won a sky auction for a vacation to Orlando, but I have a quick question for some friends and family.

Where should a small army go to stay in Orlando for a week or so? Some Family and Friends, totalling 12-14 people, or maybe a few more, want to go to Disney this spring or summer. What would be the best place for them to stay, something affordable as most of the group is kids and the parents want to give them a nice Disney vacation, but are certainly on a budget. Just consider the cost of tickets alone... whoa! I figured probably a house or condo or something, but what are the best sites to use to search for something like that... Remembering .. Price is very Important. Something nice, but not expensive. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!! :earboy2:

vrbo.com is a good place to look for condos & houses for rent. They are a site that lists private houses listed by owners. We have stayed at Windsor Palms resort before & loved it. They have condos as well as pool homes. I think it goes up to 6 br on some of the houses. I think if they all stay together, rent a house & share the cost it should be very cost effective, plus they will have a kitchen so they can save money on food. Another big expense down there.

Another vote for a villa (home). Many owners have more than one villa in the same community or even right next door to each other, so they could rent two if one is not big enough. If it's off season, they might even be able to work our a discount for two homes.

We found the 5-bedroom we're staying at this Summer at Onlinefloridavillas.com for $925 a week including taxes! You put in your requirements and the owners e-mail you back pricing and their websites with pictures of the homes or just search for Orlando rental villas and you'll get tons of sites with homes to look at. What's nice about the larger homes is that they usually come with extras like game rooms, jacuzzis, kids areas and Disney themed rooms.

It's not only affordable, it makes for a great vacation when you can all stay together, especially if they have a sense of humor, and are casual about schedules. Doing things all together at the same time...that definitely does not work, lol, but, the kids can play together, the parents can swap a night out alone, and everyone can do their own thing, go to whichever park they want to, etc. I think swimming and having pizza at the house are some our best Disney trip memories. We have a blast!
