Just got back from a disney cruise and have fallen in love with cruising.
Now I want to try some other cruiseline maybe cruising closer home (Europe)
so I wonder where is a good place to book a cruise ?
I booked the Disney cruise using an US TA and they only do Disney.
Have searched the net and a few websites came up and most of it claim to
be the best cruisespecialist !

thx for any tips....

If the £ is strong then its worth looking on US websites, I used cruisedirect.com last year.
Now the £ is not as strong(although improving) UK agents look better value. 2-3 years ago I used Thomas Cook they were as cheap as anyone but look at as many sites as you can and look for any offers available.
Also get a complete costing, not just 1st price you see, we were considering Alaskan cruise this month, if I had booked with US agent they were offering 3rd & 4th in cabin free, Thomas Cook were not. Made a massive difference.

would like to add, don't just look at the prices on the websites, call the agents and ask them for the best price. Even if there's a really great deal on travelzoo or something, it can still pay off to phone around and ask if a price can be matched or bettered.

The best we have found, and we've tried all the major Cruiseclubs throughout our 22 cruises, is Cruise Kings. They give exceptional service, have pretty much the best prices with typically 10-12% discount and are so friendly.

Ignore their website, which is rather cluttered and try calling them - I promise you won't be disappointed

I looked at a few US websites for cruises but some of them only allow you to book if you are US citizens. That is really strange to me and I don't quite
understand the reason behind it.
But then I heard from someone at Thomascook saying that (for certain cruiselines like Princess and P&o cruises) they only take bookings from UK residents.
So I guess each country has it's own set of rules probably set by some cruiselines... never knew this before.
Anyway, I will have a look at cruisedirect.
