I wish Disney would have built a park down in Myrtle Beach, SC rather than a park the totally BOMBED!!! I honestly think Disney would have done MUCH better but then again I'm no expert.
Are you referring to the Hard Rock park? From what I've heard is doing pretty well considering the it's in its first year. Crowds have been good and some of the rides are fantastic!

OT, I know but HRP failed and died a miserable death- the owners filed bankruptcy and are looking for a buyer for the park. Putting this post back on topic though, I don't think Disney could have done much better at Myrtle Beach as there is no major airport and the operations would have to be seasonal.

Instead of building someplace new Disney just needs to continue to keep the parks it has updated and maintained! Doing anything else will just further dilute the little bit of money they're spending on the Parks.

I would like them to actually put some STUDIO back in DHS! Working sound stages built for nothing! Animation building not for animation work?

Yes, I vote that they spend $$ at DHS (not on thrill rides) to update it and make me want to visit. I usually skip this park when I visit WDW.

I agree with one of the pp's about a location near Myrtle Beach. There really are no good theme-parks near that tourist area. The Pavillion was a hole in the wall, and Hard Rock park lasted 3 minutes. They desperately need the mouse!! :cool2:

I agree they should build one in Texas. The weather here is actually not all that different than Florida in comparison. In the summer we have the extreme heat without the humidity and daily storms. And in the winter we have the mild cold, without the humidity and daily storms. We are central to many other states and with today's economy and outrageous airline prices Disney could possibly draw in even more people with a meet in the middle type park everyone in the Central US could afford to drive to.

I know that this will probably never happen, but I would love to see one in Houston! I mean the weather is practically identical to Orlando and they could keep the park open all year!:cool1: AND...I could have an annual pass and go every week!

I checked once, and it appears as though the entire footprint of the Magic Kingdom (including a good portion of the behind the scenes sections) would fit within the footprint of Mall of America. This isn't to say that they have plans to "gut" MOA, but a similar structure could be built anywhere to adequately do the job.

While building an indoor Magic Kingdon might do little to satisfy "purists," it would probably do quite well in the colder sections of the U.S. If there's one thing that MOA, some of the huge water parks in the Wisconsin Dells, and the West Edmonton Mall have taught us is that there's a demand for such structures during those cold months we have to endure.

Just a thought...

Ocala, Florida, as Walt originally planned until his guys told him it would be too cold. I could then get to WDW or, it's equivalent in 20 minutes!

I voted Virginia!

I voted for Virginia too... then it would only be a 12 hr ride. But dumb question what is Disney America???

Except for the slight possibility of Disney taking over Sea World in Orlando and Busch Gardens in Virginia,I doubt Disney would build a park outside of Florida in the US until they work on their current parks and then build a 5th gate in Orlando! As far as taking over the Busch parks, Busch in Virginia and Sea World in Orlando are probably the only ones they would even consider as they are nice parks in good locations as compared to say the Busch park in Tampa which is a nice park in a bad location.I actually would like to see what Disney can do with the Virginia park and it's European theme and maybe they can add a second park in Williamsburg with the Disney's America theme. Now the only question is would Disney have an issue with the parks rollercoasters as they are not what Disney usually has in their parks. If they do they should stay away as they are great coasters that shouldn't be messed with.

I live in MI, so I have to go with that.

Maybe it'd help our economy that's in the toilet, with the big 3 and all their issues.

I said to build it in Virginia where Disney America was supposed to go (or whatever the park was called). It seemed like an awesome idea.

I voted other as well. I think Australia would be kinda cool! Like a DL/DW park then say a AK type park too...

Either that or I think they could/should build an Australia 'land' in AK OR Epcot... ya know in that dead space they call 'outpost'.
