Where do you stay on solo trips??

Thanks Pugsley! I appreciate all the advice! And I hope that your Poly vacation is super-magical!

I stayed at CSR, it was kind of big and scary a few times( so I got los once ;) ) but I liked it! I was in casitas 5 :)

I have stayed solo at ASMo, POFQ, BWI, BWV, OKW, YC, BC, WL, VWL, Swan. Also non-solos at Poly, CBR, and AKL.

I prefer the deluxe resorts in the Epcot area for location and interior corridors. I like being so close to Epcot and MGM, the dining choices, and I feel safer. But, each resort has its charms, and I have never felt "unsafe". In terms of service, I have found the BC staff to be the best--attentive and friendly.

I usually stay at BWV because I'm a DVC member, can work out for free, and it feels the most like home.

My goal is to stay at each on-site hotel at least once. They keep building new hotels, so I'm not sure I'll ever reach that goal!

As a solo traveller:

EXCELLENT - CS, off site at MOWC

GOOD - offsite @ Renaissance Worldgate, Hotel Royal Plaza

MEDIOCRE OR WORSE - just about every 2-1/2 star place
on 192 in Kissimmee I've been to :-)

I think whoever told you at PO Riverside that the AB buildings are restricted to families of five either didn't know what they were talking about or just wanted you to stop asking. It's not feasible to restrict an entire half of the resort to parties of five. Not all the rooms have trundle beds, and the trundles are not big enough for adults, which would further limit the restriction to families with small kids. That said, 2 of us adults were put into an Alligator Bayou room (with a trundle bed) in December 2001, no questions asked. I don't think they have "changed their policy" because I have great difficulty believing there was such a policy in the first place. I'm going to request AB again for my Halloween trip.

As a solo, I've stayed ay OKW, the Wydham Palace and the Hilton DTD. I'll be at BCV next year. I feel safer staying on site while staying alone.

My first time (and so far only time) solo, I stayed at PO Riverside. I enjoyed my stay and I was given a room at the Alligator Bayou side. I especially liked the fact that the building I was in was next to a quiet pool. Next time I go solo, I would like to try Wilderness Lodge.

I stay at Ft. Wilderness in my tent!! It's dirt cheap and the most luxurious camping out there!! There is even water and electric :-)
